Selecting colour effect

For this effect you have to choose an image that has a colourful aspect inside of it. For the example I chose an image of the big ben in London.

The first step is to choose which part of the picture you want to keep in colour and lasso it using the Lasso Tool

Next we have to hold cmd and click (or right click) to select ‘select inverse’ because we don’t want the colourful selected part- we want everything around it.

Now we add a black and white layer.

Now by deleting the black and white layer where you want to apply the same effect, you can remove black and white to make more colours stand out.

Now use the same lasso tool, select inverse and add black and white layer

After this cut the new black and white background and remove it where it covers the other red parts.

Now use the zoom tool to look closer at the non-red and non black and white parts of the picture that may be found in the red areas and select them using the lasso. Then do the same process from before and make it black and white.
