Instructor: Chloe AtkinsThis basic course in B&W Photographic Print-ing is for the beginning student. You will gain an understanding of how photographic print-ing works through hands-on experience. You will learn printing techniques and pro-cedures to bring your images to life. Basic elements include enlarging, cropping, using filters on multi-grade RC papers to effect con-trast, and spotting the finished print. Students should bring B/W negatives and 8’’x 10’’ RC multi-grade paper for class.

Students will have the opportunity to create a body of work from beginning to end consisting of 6 to 12 finished prints that tell a compelling, and visually rich story. This class is taught by a photo journalist who has traveled the world and is widely published.
