(Tribute Lists Inside)

On a soggy, damp morning in April, the friends of Luther Acres and others gathered for the dedication of The Peacock Court Sensory Oasis Garden in the Healthcare Center courtyard. Hearts were warmed with prayers and singing the hymn “For the Beauty of

the Earth.” Pastor Glenn Beard, Director of Church Relations and Pastoral Care, led the dedication and Grady Daub played the keyboard while we held a tarp overhead.

The Sensory Oasis Courtyard is filled with plants and flowers that engage all of the senses, from the aroma of flowers to the vibrant colors and textures of plantings that border wheelchair-friendly paths and relaxed seating areas. Whimsical “creatures” also inhabit the garden, giving residents a place to focus and explore. It is so vital that all residents, including those with memory support needs, have the opportunity to step into the fresh air and sunshine. Mary Schreiber, Therapeutic Recreation Manager at the Luther Acres Healthcare Center, states it aptly: “The experiences provided in the sensory garden are a true blessing to our residents.”

This courtyard is truly a gift from many hearts to warm the hearts and kindle the imaginations of others.

» CHARITABLE BEQUEST

Creating a will is an important step in your life journey. It’s your opportunity to plan how you will benefit your family, friends and charitable organizations after your lifetime. Including a gift in your will, often called a bequest, is a great way to support the future of our organization without giving away any of your assets today. A bequest is a gift that can be changed at any time if your circumstances change.

» MAKE PLANS FOR THE ROAD AHEAD!

Here are some of the ways you can support our cause with a charitable bequest:

• Make a gift of a specific dollar amount

• Gift us an asset such as a vehicle or artwork

• Make a gift of a percentage of your estate

• Leave us the remainder of your estate after you have provided for your heirs

Inspire Others with Your JourneyIt’s never too early in life’s journey to think about the future. Anyone who has property and a family should have an estate plan. A charitable gift can be an important part of that plan.
