• For this development project we cooperated and worked on a basic idea. Our concept was to rehabilitate the district in order to incorporate the principles: accommodation, work, recreation and transportation.

• In the beginning, we found some examples that inspired us; the first one is from a town in Greece Heraklion where part of the harbor has been redeveloped with new apartment blocks , spaces for people of different age , places for pedestrians and cyclists. Of course we expanded our investigation and across other countries and continents, and found examples for pathways and safety fences for the riverbanks. We thought that it would be efficient to provide administration area and multi-functional residential areas so that people don’t have to drive to the other side of Bratislava to work or even to spend their leisure time.

• After this phase, we start to work on the analysis. We made a research on the history, the economic status and the urban facts of the area and then marked the railway roots the highway lane and the directions to the neighbor countries/ areas. We made the analysis of the different heights of the greenery the functions in 2D and 3D and in the end, we found the position of the shadows during the day of the 21st of November.

• After the part of the analysis we continued and worked on the rehabilitation of the district.The area will be divided in three parts .The lower one will be where the multifunctional zone will be located. It consists of residential buildings with shops, services and other facilities like restaurants, cafés on several groundfloors.

• The area along the river is intended to be the main cultural and recreational zone. There will be a community center, a sports center and a Theatre on the northern side .While on the Southern part there is a Tram station.

• Opposite, is the other area where there will be administration buildings and residential buildings that are multi-functional as well.
