Peter Gould’s influence extends far beyond the borders of his native Australia. His innovative, award-winning creative work is highly sought after globally. Peter has touched many international audiences through interviews, speaking engagements, graphic design workshops and projects, art exhibitions, branding workshops and publications. “My intention is to develop the world’s most exciting and respected Muslim-oriented brands, products and creative experiences, insha’Allah,” he shares. His artwork, rendered in various media, has been commissioned by such diverse entities as the Australian government and the Royal House of Saudi Arabia. For over a decade, having embraced Islam in 2002, Peter (Yaseen) Gould’s unique perspective has reverberated throughout his incredible award-winning photography, shared through the lens of a devoted believer. Upon graduation from the University of Technology in Sydney, Peter founded a creative studio and was commissioned by clients such as Sony, Colgate and Vodafone. Peter began traveling to the Muslim world and was inspired by cities like Fes, Damascus, Istanbul and Mecca, resulting in a remarkable visual fusion of classical Islamic design elements with his signature vibrant, fresh graphic styles. Since then he has collaborated with individuals and organizations worldwide. Recognition includes finalist in the 2013 Global Islamic Economy Awards in Dubai (with collaborator Ruh Al-Alam), and 2012 & 2013 winner of the Australian National Multicultural Marketing Award presented by the NSW Government Community Relations Commission. Work for Sami Yusuf and EtihadSince 2003 Peter has worked with a dedicated team designing beautiful brands and experiences. His agency has a simple, honest approach to business and has worked with a broad spectrum of clients including Etihad Airways, Sami Yusuf, Zaytuna College and many others. Some recent branding and design projects include Hadith of the Day (a daily app which has over 6 million members), 5Pillars board game, the global Halal Food Festival in London, Discover Malaysia, the recently opened Islamic Museum of Australia and Afghanistan’s first stock exchange. Peter Gould’s love for fun, playful ideas are evident when exploring the many venues he is working on such as childrens books, games, apps and activities. countries and Arabic language study.

of diverse audiences including the Saudi Arabian Royal

Family, the Prime Minister of Australia’s office, famed

artistic journeyAustralian Prime Minister, Mr Kevin Rudd

New York entrepreneurs, an embassy in Jakarta

and global celebrities. His work has been exhibited

in dozens of galleries and at events around the

world over the past decade, from the prestigious

Dolmabahçe Art Gallery in Istanbul to the Sharjah

Islamic Arts Festival and, Islamic Arts Museum in

Malaysia.

In 2002, while studying graphic design, Peter

(Yaseen) embraced Islam. He began travelling

abroad to the Middle East and fell in love with

the beautiful old cities of Fes, Mecca, Istanbul

and Damascus.

Feeling inspired both visually and spiritually,

he embarked on a series of personal artistic

projects that resulted in a remarkable fusion

of classical Islamic design elements and his

signature vibrant, fresh graphic style.

Peter’s aim is to ‘illuminate, inspire, Insha’Allah’ and this is the benchmark he holds every project he wholeheartedly tackles. He uses his social media platforms as a basis in which to reach out and inspire uniquely diverse mix of global talent.

His social media platforms have over 250,000 follwers where he engages

directly with his followers on a daily basis. He seeks to inspire aspiring

over the world.

Peter has always loved to explore new ideas and opportunities to be creative with technology. “I’m truly excited and passionate about exploring how we can use new technologies for highly beneficial, positive, educational experiences. In a world full of misunderstanding, we need to be incredibly creative and innovative to move forward as a global community. Insha’Allah if we dream big with good intentions, the possibilities are virtually endless.”

For example, building from his Augmented Reality (AR) thesis during

his time at the University of Technology, Peter applied and was

selected by Google as a ‘Glass Pioneer’ from a pool of over half a

million entries. His resulting ‘Handsfree Quran’ device is unique

in the world. Peter’s optimism and interest in exploring these

technologies extends to wearable devices, smart Mosques, and

using his Virtual Reality programs to revisit ancient Baghdad, join

study circles in Al Andalus, or fly to the stars on a virtual Buraq.
