Meet the StaffLeslie Shibovich is celebrating her 20 year anniversary with The Pet Experts! Throughout her career, she’s been working her magic behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly. Always a hands-on manager, you might see her helping out at the front desk or whisking through the clinic while attending to the doctor’s and staff needs.

While her daily tasks keep her plenty busy, she makes time to better her management and animal knowledge skills by attending annual veterinary conferences and workshops, as well as various classes on computer programs, best practices, etc.

She thoroughly enjoys the business aspect of the practice and also looks forward to each and every opportunity to meet and speak with clients and to help however she can to ensure their experience is the best it can be for both themselves and their pets.

In her spare time, Leslie enjoys running and spending time with her beautiful daughter and her precious pets, her boxers, Addi, Lacey and Dierks.

Tips to keep your pet happy and healthy during the autumn months

Be Cautious of Rodenticides and Cold Weather PoisonsThe use of rat and mouse poisons increase as rodents seek shelter from cooler temperatures by attempting to move indoors. These are highly toxic to pets and, if ingested, the results could be fatal. If you must use these products, do so with extreme caution and put them in places inaccessible to your pets.

Many people choose fall as the time to change their car’s engine coolant. Ethylene glycol-based coolants are highly toxic, so spills should be cleaned up immediately. Consider switching to propylene glycol-based coolants, as they are much less toxic than other engine coolants.

Keep School Supplies Out of Paws’ ReachFamilies with young children have stocked up for school with items like glue sticks, pencils and magic

markers. Although these items are considered low toxicity to pets, gastrointestinal upset and blockages can occur if ingested. Be sure to keep school supplies out of your pet’s reach.

Schedule your pet’s annual checkup TODAY to be sure your pet is healthy! If your pet is just 10% over their ideal body weight (that may mean 1 lb. for a 10 lb. cat), they are at risk for developing serious medical conditions. Your veterinarian can help ensure your pet is at their ideal weight.

Bring in your pet for their annual checkup TODAY—we’ll give them a thorough physical exam from nose to tail! We can talk about what they’re eating and if we have to make any changes. Let us help keep your pet healthy and happy!

Many Midwesterners get excited for the changing seasons. Your pet, too, is probably welcoming a break from hot, sticky weather. Please be aware of what dangers the Fall season can bring to your furry friend. From household poisons to cold weather hazards, there are important safety issues to consider.

National Cat Day Celebration/NAHS Fundraiserat Solemn Oath BrewerySave the Date!Monday, October 30th Details coming!

In addition to our Canine/Cat Carnival & Adoption Event this summer, we were honored to participate in several awe-inspiring events. We helped raise funds for Naperville Area Humane Society with an event at Solemn Oath Brewery. They gave 15% of all beer sales to NAHS for that day and raffle sales also raised a good amount of much needed funds! We also partnered with Save-a-Vet for their 1st 5K Dog Dash to benefit disabled veterans. It was a fun-filled day for the whole family!

Through our partnerships with local rescues, our clinic is host to animals available for adoption. Right now, we’re home to a group of dogs that were rescued from shelters in Texas. We’re doing our part to make sure they’re healthy and helping to introduce them to new families for potential adoptions.

To find out about all of our events and animals available for adoption, follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and you’ll be the first to know!
