Venue is yet to be confirmed.

CERTIFICATES, CUPS and GROUP DAY

• Points only awarded for the first three places across all indoor and outdoor classes. • Outdoor Awards ~ Children gaining the most points across the outdoor classes (Jun,

Mid, Sen incl Open) will receive both a cup and certificate at the presentation ceremony – 2nd & 3rd place-getters certificates only. Ribbons for individual classes only.

• Indoor Awards ~ Children gaining the most points across the indoor classes (Jun, Mid, Sen) will receive a certificate at the presentation ceremony – 1st, 2nd & 3rd only. Small certificates issued for individual classes only.

which must be used across all in/outdoor sections and may be found on the front cover of this schedule ie HVJ17 denotes Havelock Junior 17 (Numbers from 01 - 80)

• If you are placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any of the classes marked GD and would like to be entered in Group Day (Friday 28 October), please let Selena Robbins know before 14:30 on the day of the Spring Festival. Group Day caters for exhibitors from across Marlborough Schools who have gained a place at their local school and who wish to compete in a larger event.

RULES

• This event is open to students of Havelock School, the Pelorus Community Pre-school and respective adult community members.

• All Indoor Entries except perishables are to be at Havelock School Hall between 13:00 and 15:30 on THURSDAY 13th OCTOBER so they can be set up for judging.

• All indoor and small animal exhibits need to be clearly labeled with Exhibiter’s Name, Code and Class entered.

• All Calves must have Both LIFETIME ID TAGS. • Dogs shall be registered, wear their MDC tags and must remain in their designated

area, then taken on their lead to and from the competition area - lead may only be taken off under instruction from judges for competition.

• All Calves and Lambs must be born on or after 1st AUGUST 2016. • All Entry Forms (incl with schedule) must be in to the office on/by Tue 11 Oct – no late

entries.

SCHEDULE OF INDOOR CLASSES

Whilst only one exhibit in any class applies to Group Day the school encourages those who might like to enter multiple entries to do so where practical. The exhibit/s must of course be the child’s own work with only their code visible on the front. All classes will be judged using Group Day criteria/specifications where applicable and subject to being placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd may be entered in Group Day. Classes 4 and 8 will be completed in class time at school and classes 6 and 12 at pre-school.

Class 1 (JMS) ~ Handmade Christmas Decoration GD Must be able to hang on a tree - no kit sets - all child’s own work - max size 10 x 10 cm

Class 2 (JMS) ~ General Photography GD Theme: Animal Study - title required but no frame or decoration Single 15 x 10 cm print (6" x 4") film or digital print (not enhanced) mounted on single A5 card of any colour - photograph must have been taken by the entrant since October 2015

Class 3 (JMSA) ~ Quirky Photography No theme, frame or decoration - title required Single 15 x 10 cm print (6" x 4") film or digital print mounted on single A5 card of any colour to provide a border. Photograph must have been taken by the entrant since October 2015

Class 4 (JMS) ~ Calendar Art - Compulsory Use of colour – space – originality - completed as part of classroom work – orders taken on forms provided

Class 5 (JMS) ~ A4 Poster GD Theme: Promoting the A and P Show - must include the words “A and P Show” and its dates “4th & 5th November” A4 size - Any media eg oils, water colour, pens, collage but no computer work

Class 6 (P) ~ Decorated Rock Decorate a rock with design and colour. No bigger than child’s hand.

Class 7 (JMS) ~ A4 Natural Material Picture/Collage GD

Theme: Conservation - using only natural materials Nothing artificial except adhesive - mounted on cardboard – no frame - able to be fixed or hung on wall – Not larger than A4

Class 8 (JMS) ~ Decorated Wooden Spoon GD - Compulsory Max length 350 mm incl decorations - no fresh adornments

Class 9 (JMS) Handwritten Invitation GD Party invitation. Written on A5 plain paper/light card. One side only (not to be folded). Can be decorated but NO computer work AT ALL.

Class 10 (JMS) Decorated Boot or Shoe GD Decorated boot or shoe. No fresh flowers please.

Class 11 (JMS) Decorated Bottle GD 750ml pump bottle or similar. Finished height/length 300mm max.

Class 12 (P) ~ Finger Painting A3 art work done under supervision at pre-school

Class 13 (JM) ~ Decorated Cup Cake One cup cake – decorated

Class 14 (SA) ~ Decorated Cake Any shape, this one is open to all community members who wish to enter - must be entrant’s own work! NO HELP FROM THE CHILDREN!

Please Note: ALL CAKES BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE HAVELOCK SCHOOL STAFF AND MUST REMAIN AT SCHOOL WHEN JUDGING IS COMPLETED!
