Book in Advance: The Inca Trail & Inca Trail Express Treks can sell out from 3 to 6 months in advance, due to governmental regulations. Only 500 people (including trekkers, porters and guides) are allowed on the Inca Trail, 400 on Huayna Picchu and 2,500 in Machu Picchu archaeological site per day. In order to secure your trekking permit and tickets, we recommend booking early with your correct pass-port information. Tickets and trekking permits may not be changed or transferred.

Day 2: Trek to Pacaymayo Camp (B/L/D)Get ready for a challenging vertical hike of 6 km (5 hrs) to reach Dead Woman’s Pass at 4,215m followed by a 3 km hike down stone steps to reach Pacaymayo camp at 3,600m (2 hrs) where lunch and a nap awaits you. (10 km; 7 hours)

Day 3: Trek to Wiñayhuayna High Jungle Camp (B/L/D)An unforgettable journey along ancient Inca stairways, mountain lakes, intriguing archaeological sites and hu-mid jungle scenery awaits you. Day 1: Cuzco to Mollepata, Trek to Soraypampa Camp (L/D)Hostel pick-up at 4:30 am and bus transfer to Mollepata (2,900m) for a quick breakfast. A 4-hour walk will take us to Sayllapata for lunch with views of beautiful snow-capped mountains. Ascend to Soraypampa Camp (3,920m) arriving by 5:30pm for dinner and bedtime. (19 km, 7.5 hours)

Day 2: Trek to Challhuay or Colcapampa Camp (B/L/D)Have breakfast at 6:00 am and hike for 4 hours to a breathtaking high pass at 4,650m between Salkantay and Humantay mountains where we may find snow or ice. Descend for 2 hours and enjoy lunch at Huayracpampa, followed by a 3-hour trek to our campsite at Challhuay or Colcapampa in the high jungle immersed in nature at 2,900 meters. (22 km, 9-10 hours)

Day 3: Trek to Santa Teresa Town (B/L/D)After breakfast at 6:30 am, start trekking through the lush upper jungle crossing the Santa Teresa River through valleys with pristine waterfalls and tropical fruit trees. Have lunch at La Playa (2,200m) and camp in Santa Teresa town (1,700 meters) with the option to soak your sore muscles in the thermal springs (20 soles extra). (15 km; 5.5 hours)

Day 4: Trek to Hydroelectric Station & Aguas Calientes (B/L/D)Have a late breakfast today at 8:00 am and hike along a relaxing path for 3 hours to reach the hydroelectric station at low altitude of 1,880 meters for lunch. Hike 3 more hours slightly uphill to reach the long awaited town of Aguas Calientes 2,010 meters. Recharge your batteries by taking an optional visit to the hot springs (10 soles extra) and have a well-deserved dinner at a local restaurant. Rest up for a big day ahead in Machu Picchu! (18 km; 6 hours)

Day 5: Explore Machu Picchu & Return to Cuzco (B)Catch the early bus to Machu Picchu at 5:30am and arrive for sunrise. A 2-hour walking tour is given by your guide with time to explore the mysterious city by yourselves afterward. Hike the optional Huayna Picchu Peak (30 soles extra in advance). When you are ready to return to Aguas Calientes, take the bus back downhill at your leisure. From Aguas Calientes, take the train to Ollantaytambo and then transfer to Cuzco by bus. You will be dropped off at Plaza San Francisco where you can make your own way back to the hotel of your choice.

Attend a pre-departure briefing at Milhouse Hostel in Cuzco one day prior to your trek where you can meet your guide, ask questions and receive last minute information. Day 1: Cuzco to Malaga High Pass, Mountain Biking to Santa Maria Village (L/D)Depart Cuzco at 7:00am and van transfer to Ollantaytambo for a quick breakfast. Drive for 1.5 hours to the Malaga High Pass (4,350m) where our adventure begins. Embark on an adrenaline-pumping 2.5-hour downhill mountain bike ride into the lush and humid jungle passing by Huamanmarka Archaeological.
