We clarify the situation

A typical scenario may look like this:During an alarm with a suspected terrorist attack,the task forces don their NBC personal equipment,and the area at risk is blocked off. Using variousdetection methods, the task force assesses thethreat level. The Dräger simultaneous tests enable astraight-forward initial assessment.

If contamination is suspected, the substance isimmediately determined on-site using the Drägersimultaneous test. Then a sample is taken and sentto a lab for confirmation. The area is evacuated anddecontaminated. Finally, a mission evaluation isconducted after the results of the lab tests becomeavailable.

If there is a risk of contamination with biological or chemical substances during a mission, it ismandatory for measures to be coordinated. The processes described below can be carried out in varying order or even in parallel, depending on the mission tactics, situation and emergencyforces involved.

Focusing on the essential

Full face masks and filters form a proven combinationduring a mission. Together they offer you aneffective and comfortable personal protectionsystem of the highest level.

Dräger M2000With the personal NBC protection system DrägerM2000 we set new standards for wearing comfortand flexibility. Even during missions lasting morethan 24 hours the mask provides a high wearingcomfort. The perfect pressure distribution via a 6-point textile harness and the soft material reducethe pressure sensation to a minimum. Three masksizes ensure the ideal fit. A wide field of view andthe option to insert spectacle frames offer idealvisibility for every wearer. A filter replacement

within seconds drastically minimises the risk ofcontamination. Two compatible filter types, theNATO standard round thread filter and the Dräger F2000 plug-in filter, make the mask flexiblefor the most varied military user groups.

Dräger CDR 4500The Dräger full face mask CDR 4500 has beenspecifically developed for use in civil defence andprotection. Together with the Dräger NBC civilprotection filters it keeps harmful gases andparticles in the ambient air away from the respiratorytracts. The flexible mask material is extremelyresistant, the handling of the mask very simple.

Dräger NBC MasterThe Dräger NBC Master series are gas-tightchemical protection suits tailored specifically tothe needs of civil defence and protection. Theyprotect against solid, liquid and gaseous chemicalsand NBC warfare agents. The suit consists of highquality HIMEX® M*, a material providing provenprotection against chemical warfare agents. Safetygloves and safety boots or safety socks areconnected gas-tight to the suit and easily replaced.A gas-tight zip fastener system with integratedbarrier layer film, a communication radio pocketand a strap for a push-to-talk button are standardin the Dräger NBC Master series. Dependent onthe design, the breathing apparatus is worn inside(9x90) or outside the protection suit (8x90). Fourdifferent suit sizes provide guaranteed wearingcomfort. In addition, the suits can be equippedwith a ventilation system or connected to astationary compressed-air supply.

The Dräger NBC Master 8x90 is equipped with aspecial face cuff providing gas-tight sealing incombination with different full face masks. It canalso be supplied with a permanently integrated fullface mask.

Dräger Protec Plus TFDräger Protec Plus are lightweight comfortablesplash protection suits from Tychem® F** fabric.They protect emergency services against solid andliquid chemicals, such as acids, lyes, dust and fineparticles. The Dräger Protec Plus TF suits areparticularly suitable for disaster protection, epidemiccontrol, when handling hazardous biologicalsubstances or oil, and during decontaminationwork. The suit can be worn with disposable masks,filter masks and full face masks.

Race against time

For the direct analysis on site, Dräger offerssimultaneous and single tests to detect hazardousgases and vapours as well as toxins and bacterialpathogens within minutes. For the detection ofexplosive or toxic gases, additional detection systems,mainly derived from industrial applications, areavailable, which can also be used in fighting terror.

As one of the leading providers of detectiontechnology for the measurement of hazardoussubstances in the air, our whole know-howcontributes to a comprehensive library ofhazardous substances. We are not only yourcompetent contact for detection, but also provideadvice on questions about the behaviour of thegases.

Dräger Civil Defense SetThe two Dräger Civil Defense Sets (CDS) allowfor several gases to be detected simultaneously.Dräger CDS contain directly indicating Drägertubes for measuring chemical warfare agents. Theresponse mechanisms of these tubes match thoseof the single tubes used for many years by NATO.However, during the CDS measurements you havethe advantage of being able to detect eightdifferent chemical substances simultaneouslyusing only two sets.

Substances harmful to nerves, blood or the lungs aredetected reliably within a few minutes. No calibrationis required for the measurement, and the system canbe deployed with a minimum of training requirement.

Dräger Bio-Agent TestSingle tests

The Dräger Civil Defense Set also excels in costs;compared to analytical instrument measuring systemsthe Dräger simultaneous method is clearly cheaper.Training sets are additionally available for exercises.

Dräger Bio-Agent TestDräger Bio-Agent Test is a product series ofimmunological rapid tests for the detection ofbiological pathogens and toxins. It is easy to use, and within 10-15 minutes the test reliablydetects the following substances:– anthrax– ricin– botulinum toxin– pest (y. pestis)– SEB (staphylococcus enterotoxin B)

For high concentrations the result is availableafter 3 minutes only. The detection can becarried out as simultaneous test for measuring of5 parameters or as single test for only onesubstance at a time.

Evaluation is entirely visual. Directly on site youcan quickly and easily see whether contaminationis present. Once the type of threat is known,additional protection measures can immediately be initiated without losing valuable time in lengthylab tests.

To be prepared for an emergency, the operationand the reading of the results can be easily learnedusing low-cost training sets
