Innovation is the engine that drives (business/regional) development and economic

grow. The award aims at demonstrating how to strengthen the regional economy of

the Italian speaking part of Switzerland by fostering innovation and creating synergies

among the main actors of the regional development: universities, business incuba-

tors, banks and young entrepreneurs.

With this initiative, we aim to contribute to economic development and employment

in the Italian speaking part of Switzerland fostering the emergence of the most inno-

vative and promising business ideas by encouraging and supporting the creation of

new businesses.

Thanks to the cooperation with the CTI Invest and the Swiss Economic Forum, the

five finalists of the StartCup Ticino 2015 will be admitted to the Swiss Venture Day

Ticino and the Swiss Economic Award, the most prestigious young entrepreneur

award of Switzerland.
