Principal objects of Act

The Principal objects of this Act are –

(a) to promote the integrity and accountability of public and private sector administration by constituting an independent and accountable anti-corruption body; and

(b) to educate public authorities, public officials and members of the public about corruption and its detrimental effects on public and private sector administration and on the community.

The CeIO will be responsible for implementing andconducting reviews on integrity enhancementprograms within the agencies to ensure transparency,efficiency and honesty and will determine whetherGovernments departments and agencies are achievingtheir purpose in an effective, efficient and lawful way;

The CeIO will also ensure that officers are monitoredand adhere to procedures in the conduct of theirduties, reducing opportunities for abuse of power.

Why…Becoming an ISO 37001 certified professional

The FCPA was intended to halt those corrupt practices, create a level playing field for honest businesses, and restore public confidence in the integrity of the marketplace. The FCPA contains both anti-bribery and accounting provisions. The anti-bribery provisions prohibit U.S. persons and businesses (domestic concerns), U.S. and foreign public companies listed on stock exchanges in the United States or which are required to file periodic reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (issuers), and certain

foreign persons and businesses acting while in the territory of the United States (territorial jurisdiction) refrain companies from making corrupt payments to foreign officials to obtain or retain business. The

accounting provisions require issuers to make and keep accurate books and records and to devise and maintain an adequate system of internal accounting controls. The accounting provisions also prohibit individuals and businesses from knowingly falsifying books and records or knowingly circumventing or failing to implement a system of internal controls.

to revelations of widespread bribery of foreign officials by U.S. companies.

The UK Bribery Act, which was passed in 2010,introduces an offence of corporate failure toprevent bribery. The defence for a company againstthis liability is to prove that it had adequateprocedures in place to prevent bribery.

Abul -Laits meriwayatkan dengan sanadnya dari Umar bin Abdul-Aziz berkata: “Sesungguhnya Allah s.w.t. tidak menyiksa orang-orang umum kerana dosa-dosanya orang-orang yang tertentutetapi apabila perbuatan dosa itu merahajalela dan terang-terangan kemudian tidak ada yang menegur, maka berertisemuanya sudah layak menerima hukuman.”

Dan diriwayatkan bahawa Allah s.w.t. telahmewahyukan kepada Yusya bin Nuh a.s.: “Aku akan membinasakankaummu empat puluh ribu orang yang baik-baik dan enam puluh ribuorang yang derhaka.” Nabi Yusya bertanya: “Ya Tuhan, itu orang derhaka sudah layak, maka mengapakah orang yang baik-baik itu?” Jawab Allah s.w.t.: “Kerana mereka tidak murka terhadap apa yang Aku murka, bahkan mereka makan minum bersama mereka yang derhaka itu.”

Coordinate and monitor integrity programmes within the organisation; Filing Reports on breaches of integrity; Coordinate action taken against any breaches of integrity; Implement an integrity rehabilitation programme; Produce written articles pertaining to integrity; Assist and support the Committee of Integrity Governance Secretariat [CIG]; Advise Management in all aspects of integrity; Monitor the service delivery system; Act as the Liaison Officer to the Corporate Integrity Development Centre [CIDC]; and Ensure compliance to organizational orders/regulations.
