Our Drama Foundation programme is the only one in the world in association with the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), Britain’s best-known theatre school. It is a three-term intensive actor training programme designed for students intending on a career in the performing arts. It will develop your acting and audition skills as well as build your confidence before auditioning to drama school. This programme is also an excellent route if you would like to explore actor training before making a commitment to a three-year degree.
It is a two strand programme that allows students to train as actors in either Classical & Contemporary Theatre or Musical Theatre. You will receive intensive one-on-one preparation for auditions, and you should expect to devote a considerable amount of personal time to studying scripts, researching theatre history, planning productions and learning lines. Throughout the year you will benefit from master classes by visiting RADA tutors and you will visit several RADA productions as well as completing the RADA Shakespeare Certificate.
RADA CertificatesThe RADA Shakespeare Certificates, at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, provide a benchmark for you if you want to improve your technique, and thus your confidence, in delivering complex language. During each term, there will be opportunities to prepare for and take these highly regarded qualifications. The certificates are awarded following a successful presentation before RADA examiners.
The training here is very personalised, not like any other drama school. The students get the full focus of the teachers and you use that focus in your work. The School and Cambridge have such a young atmosphere, you feel connected and part of something special. It has been amazing this year.Maria Penella Gomez · mexico drama foundation

If you are looking to achieve a place at a university music department or conservatoire, the Music Foundation course will prepare you for this progression. The programme will enable you to refine your skills (composition, theory, performance and recording) and broaden your musical knowledge and understanding. It is designed to give you unrivalled breadth of content and flexibility, allowing you to focus on particular areas of passion as well as developing your skills and creating well-rounded, confident musicians. You will benefit from very small classes as well as one-to-one tutoring.
If you are looking for a place at a university music department you will be well prepared for higher education, having undertaken aural training, music research and performance. At a music university department your study will be more academically based; you will study a broader range of content of which performance is one element. If you are looking for a place at a conservatoire, you will be given the opportunity to undertake extensive preparation for entrance examinations and auditions. At a conservatoire there will be much more focus on performance.
You will be encouraged to build links with the music industry through course projects and key units throughout the year.
The Music Foundation really prepares you for the next steps, for university or conservatoire. The staff are really flexible and supportive. Cambridge feels like home, it is safe, friendly and not scary.hyuk namkoong · south Korea accepted a place at royal academy of music
