Problem
Compressor is Running
Compressor is Running and Noisy
Possible Source
Loss of System Refrigerant charge
Loose Mounting Bolts
Belt Alignment, loose belt, tensioner loose or
damaged
Lack of Compressor Oil
Compressor Damaged Internally
Tighten compressor mounting bolts and
Bracket Bolts as needed
Check Belt condition and alignment, if ok then remove belt and check
clutch pulley and tensioner pulley by
rotating, a rumble or “catch” indicates a damaged bearing, replace as needed
Shut AC off and check sight glass, if low add oil until the sight glass is full
Remove compressor and replace as needed
Broken Shaft
Possible defective clutch
System is Over-Charged or Non-condensables
are in the system
Condenser Fan is not operational or the Condenser fins are
extremely packed with dirt
Heater Water Valve Leaking
Remove System charge and replace compressor
Check supply voltage, and replace Clutch once it is
confirmed to be defective
Recover System Charge, evacuate properly and recharge with correct
system refrigerant charge
Replace Fan or if the condenser is dirty carefully clean using normal water
pressure and soap
Check Dash Control is at Full Cold, if necessary clamp Heater lines and
check vent cooling. If water valve is defective, replace
Indication
Clutch Engages but no cool air
Rattling Noise
“Squealing” Sound
Clutch Engages but no pressure differential noted
on Manifold Gages
Clutch Engages intermittently
System Operating Pressures are High
Pressures appear normal but no cooling
Action
Using Manifold Gages check system operating pressures - Low Suction and Discharge Pressures
indicate low charge. Perform leak check
procedure, repair leak, evacuate and re-charge
system

8. Use the allen wrench to insert into the armature and capture the shims on the opposite side as depicted. Align the tool into the threaded shaft hole and install the armature as shown.
