What are Percussion Instruments?

A percussion instrument is any object which produces sounds by being hit, shaken and rubbed.

Maracas -dried seeds or pebbles inside the gourds

make noise when the maracas are shaken.

Drums- played by beating with hands or sticks.

Drum set- a collection of drums and cymbals

Kettle drum- a large drum that makes deep sound- a set of kettle drum is called timpani

Tambourine -played by shaking and striking with hand.

Cymbals- pair of large round metals.

Triangle- has a triangular shape. -played by striking with a stick

Xylophone- that has rows of bars and is played with a mallet.
