 FOH console must be positioned in front of the PA system not to the side of the stage or behind the PA. Kalyan are a large eight piece band with two producers that control front of house and process live FX. They play with a wide scope of dynamics, ranging from energetic to calm, and moving between Dub, Jazz, Soul and Rock. As Kalyan’s sound is complex It is essential that the FOH PA system be of adequate size for the venue. 

            

 Consoles (if digital): 

 Soundcraft Vi or Si preferred, Allen & Heath iLive, Avid D­Show, Behringer X32 is also OK. Minimum 4 FX sends after monitor sends. 

 Consoles (if analogue): 

 Midas, Soundcraft (GB or MH Series) or Allen & Heath (GL or ML). Groups or VCA preferable. Minimum 4 FX sends after monitor sends.  

           

 

  

 Outboard: 

 We require 4 channels of gate, and 7 channels of compression across individual channels. 

 BSS, XTA, DBX, Drawmer, Klark Teknik, LA Audio preferable. 

 Effects: 

 We require minimum of two reverb. Three channels of reverb is preferable TC M­One, D­Two, Yamaha SPX series preferable.  

           Our two producers will also require an additional three AUX sends for FX after other AUX sends.  

  

Monitoring   We require a 6 way monitor mix on stage on 6 separate monitor sends, each send should have its own 31 band graphic equaliser located at FOH or in the event of a separate monitor console being used, next to the monitor console. High powered, high quality monitor wedges are essential, minimum of 500 watts per wedge monitor, bi­amping is also preferable.
