To facilitate the right information at the right time to the right users in the right format at

Library has been adopting new emerging technology;
It promotes varieties of library services such as CAS; SDI, Web OPAC, on-line reference services etc;
These tools are becoming more and more popular among young people as they are fast and
effective tools for disseminating knowledge.

Objectives Of The Study
To know the awareness on Library 2.0
applications among LIS Professionals in
selected University Libraries of Assam;
To find out the use of wikis, blogs, RSS feed,
SNS, podcasting, Mashup etc. among LIS
Professionals for providing services in the
university libraries;
To identify and examine the different purposes
for using Library 2.0 tools by LIS professionals.
Methodology
Survey Method;
A Well-structured Questionnaire;
Closed Ended Questions;
Open Ended Questions.
Data Analysis And Interpretation
A total number of 57 questionnaires were distributed to the
LIS professionals of selected University Libraries of Assam,
out of which 43 filled in questionnaires were received back
by the researchers. The response rate was 75%.
