SLAVERY*All empires during the 19th Century were owned slaves.*Slaves came from different places, but especially from Greece, Roma and Africa.*Their occupations varied: tutors, administrators, agricultural laborers, domestic servants, etc.
*The sugar plantation played an important role because it increased the growth of slave trade between the 15th & 18th Century.*Slavery soon became one of the most important facts in the economy.

*Some people were against slavery, such as Lourenco da Silva.
*People who were against slavery faced a hard time trying to find reasons to avoid it.
*African slaves learned about Christianity
*Denmark was the first state to abolish slavery in 1792.
*Slavery ended in Europe during the first years of the 19th Century.
*Brazil was one of the last places on abolishing slavery.

IMPORTANT PEOPLEAntoine de Bougainville*French mathematician and explorer.*Had the same dream as Columbus; to discover new lands.*He discovered a new place on 1768 (Tahiti), what he called a perfect place with perfect people.*He met Aotourou a native Tahitian and took him to Paris.
Captain James Cook*He also went with the same purposes to the Pacific, and gather information.*He got enough data, calculations, and even some specimens of plants and minerals.*He met a native from what is known today as Hawaii; his name was Omai.*Omai became very popular.
