PeopleFirst™ Supervisory Certificate Program
Developing Front-line Leadership Skills
High engagement. Consistent performance. Increased productivity.
We can help your middle and front-line managers lead with confidence.
Do you want to develop your high potential employees as leaders? Do you want to build a more
productive and profitable organization for the future? The PeopleFirst™ Supervisory Certificate
Program can help.
Are your supervisors really equipped for their leadership roles?
Key employees on large agricultural operations often are promoted to supervisory positions
because they’ve done well in their functional jobs. They may have no experience managing other
people. Just as they once needed training in basic fundamentals of how to perform tasks, they
now need to advance their leadership and decision-making skills.
Your managers are important to your bottom line:
• Employees’ relationship with their direct supervisors is the No. 1 driver of employee engagement.
• Most supervisors are unaware of their impact on their direct reports’ performance and do not fully understand their own role.
• Unqualified, undertrained and unengaged supervisors contribute to employee turnover.
• Employee turnover cost ranges from one-half to one-and-one-half times employee annual salary.
Workplace research shows:
• 50 percent of what kept employees engaged in their work was their relationship with their
immediate supervisor.1
• Companies with high employee engagement had:
– A 19 percent higher operating income2
– 26 percent higher productivity3
– Six times higher operating margin and
three times higher return on equity
and return on assets4
PeopleFirst™ is the solution.
Through the Supervisory Certificate Program, the PeopleFirst team of professional instructors
helps maximize your employees’ potential. PeopleFirst can help you succeed with a workplace
culture of highly engaged, productive and efficient employees.
Participants will develop the skills and confidence to:
• Build trust within their teams
• Effectively manage a team’s day-to-day responsibilities
• Analyze and carry out important decisions in their areas of responsibility
• Take ownership and action for the benefit of the operation, without always waiting for orders
• Set and communicate goals and performance expectations with employees
• Delegate work and hold people accountable for the work
• Diagnose and address motivational issues versus skill-related issues
• Help support employee skill development
• Evaluate employee performance and recognize good work
