FROM THE WORTHY PRESIDENT
(Worthy President continued)
In 2014, our little club — and we are small
as philanthropic entities go — generated
and gave to charities over $36,000 through
the volunteer efforts and support of your
brothers and sisters.
We also served a full Thanksgiving
dinner to 3,300 seniors which included
over 600 meals delivered to shut-ins. This
tradition is in its 38th year. I think it’s time
to reflect on your accomplishments and,
along with me, to give yourselves a well-
deserved “atta (boy/girl)”. Damn, I’m
proud to be an Eagle!
Lanny
P.S. Thank you Karl and Aram for my
invitation
Thought: “Dream as if you’ll live forever,
live as if you’ll die today.” ~ James Dean
(Madam President continued)
I’m looking forward to new and exciting
events for our coming new year. What do
you think about a casino night, or a pet
carnival? The possibilities are endless when
we put our heads together!
The Worthy President and I are
implementing a volunteer of the month,
beginning in January. We will each pick one
member from the Aerie and Auxiliary and a
certificate and picture of the worthy
recipient will be posted in the social room.
They will also receive a gift
certificate. Please feel free to let us know of
any unsung heroes in our midst.
I can’t wait to see what the New Year
brings us, and am looking forward to
spending it with all of you!
Sincerely,
Vicki Hanley
Email: [email protected]
There’s a reason that
you’re a member of the
Eagles. A good friend or a
family member thought
enough of you to invite
you to join our fraternity.
We’re a like-minded
group, we believe in God
and country. We believe
in gathering with our
friends and enjoying the
comradery that our
organization offers. More
importantly, we believe in
our ability to effect
change, to make a
difference in the lives of
others less fortunate than
we are.

It was a very good year
for Aurora Aerie #3224, a

Hello, all! I hope everyone had nice holidays and wish you luck in the New Year.
We are currently at 643 members and counting. Our goal for this year is to get back to 700 members. We can do it with your help. Just come on down with a friend and show them what we have to offer. I’ve found that most people are pretty impressed by what we do. Once again thanks for your support.

From the Aerie Trustees
Brothers and Sisters,
Thank you to everyone who donated snacks and items for the kids to wrap for family and friends at the annual children's Christmas Party. We had a great turn out with about 20 kids who came for the festivities. Thank you to the Rangeview Leadership Students who volunteered (thank you, Sandy Stephens, for asking them). They are always welcome and are in training to be future Eagle members.
Thank you, Mr. Weber, for yet another year of being our Santa Claus.
Sending a huge thank you to Charles and Sally Spice and all their wonderful volunteers for hosting yet another fabulous evening for our members. The banquet room was "jazzed!”
We sure hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and we're looking forward to a prosperous New Year!
Fraternally yours,
Trustees: George Biel, Byron Fugleberg, Frank Navarro, Chuck Stephens, Eric Walsmith, Terri Fugleberg, Cindy Lacey, and Sandy Stephens
P.S. I cannot begin to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the texts, e mails, cards, thoughts and prayers that helped me recuperate even faster. Love you guys! Sandy Stephens

FROM THE AUXILIARY SECRETARY
It’s a “new year.” Hope everyone is having a great holiday season. I am sure Santa brought everyone all the things they wanted.
In November we initiated 6 ladies: Amy Gibson and Pat Ten Eyck sponsored by Michelle Grupe, Susan Oman sponsored by Jan Ley, Julie Wormhoudt sponsored by Hollie Davis, Barbara Ware sponsored by Gladys Witt, and Becky Henningson sponsored by Doris Bankert. Welcome to all our newest members.
It is getting close to “dues paying” time. For all the lovely ladies who pay their dues early, the fees will be the same as last year. The fees are non-beneficial $36 and beneficial $37. You can pay any time before the March 31st date if you would like.
‘Til next month,
Sherry [email protected]
INDOOR TOURNEYS!
The remaining tourneys will be on Jan. 11, Feb. 15, Mar. 22 and Apr. 12. Put those dates on your calendars for fun playing pool, “corn hole,” darts, shuffleboard and beer pong.
We will be paying 1st and 2nd place for each tournament. The winning team of each match will receive 5 points per round and the losing team will receive 3 points per round. Each team will play 5 rounds, 1 game each of the above list, with the team earning the most points taking 1st place, etc. In the event of a tie, there will be a one game playoff of darts of all teams that are tied at the end of the tourney.
Entry fee will be $10 per person with a registration time noon and an estimated start time of 1:00 p.m. There will be a blind draw for your partner. Feel free to show up early and enjoy the breakfast before the games begin. Also, feel free to bring any and all food to share with your brothers and sisters during the tournaments.
These tournaments are open to ALL members of #3224, and there is no skill required. All that is required is that you want to have a lot of fun on a Sunday afternoon at your Aerie. ~ Jack Harris
