A Message of Life Pentecost Sunday

On this Pentecost Sunday, our Parish Community

celebrates the First Communion of 76 of our

children. What a happy coincidence! On Pentecost Day, peo-

ple of different backgrounds, languages, and cultures could pro-

claim with one voice the marvels of the Lord.

Pentecost is the birthday of the Church, the miracle of a new com-

munion among people. A group of fearful

fishermen opened wide the doors of the room where they were

locked in, to proclaim to the world the good news of fraternity and

equality of the whole human race.

Can the miracle of Pentecost transform our world

today? This is happening on this Sunday in our Parish. We wel-

come these children and their families who come from many

different countries and speak different languages. In the

Church no one is a stranger. We form one Body and we receive

the same Spirit.

Wouldn’t we like the miracle of Pentecost to become a reality in

our society? We want the children who receive their First Com-

munion today, to always feel welcomed in our community. Today

is an opportunity for these children to realize that we really

value them. Perhaps one day they will announce to others the

great message of

Pentecost- the communion of different people in one Body.
