Policy Regarding Sick Learners THESE RULES ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE. Parents are required to assist us in preventing cross infection of the Learner’s and therefore we have implemented these rules.

1. Learner’s with eye infections are not permitted at school and require a doctor’s /clinic clearance certificate upon return to school.

2. Learner’s with runny tummies or vomiting are not permitted at school and require a doctor’s/clinic clearance certificate upon return to school.

3. Should a Learner have Lice or Ring Worm they will not be permitted back at school until they have a doctor’s/clinic clearance certificate.

4 DO NOT send your child to school if he/she has a bad cough, runny nose or sore throat.5 Please notify the school of the reasons for the child's absence from school as possible. 6  In case of infectious illness, please notify the school immediately7 Should a Learner be prescribed Anti-Biotic, your Learner will not be permitted back at the school for

the first 48hrs and we will Require a doctor’s/clinic clearance certificate upon return to school.

8 Once we have phoned the parent to collect a Learner, the Learner is to be collected within 30 minutes by either the parent or an authorized family member.

9 In case of emergency and we need to administer medication, we will call for authorization Any medication that has to be administered must be removed from the Learner’s bag and handed to the Principal on duty. The parents are to fill in the medication and dosage at the back of their Learner's Diary - If this is not done NO medication will be administered. When collecting your Learner the medication will be in the office NOT in the bag. It is your responsibility to collect your Learner's medication from the office.

Policy Regarding an Alternative Person collection a Learner THESE RULES ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE.

1. If someone else is going to collect a Learner the following procedure has to be followed. The parent needs to phone the school or whatsapp in time with the person’s name and ID Number that will be collecting the Learner. On arrival the person needs to present their ID Document or Drivers Licence for verification. Without an ID DocumentOr Drivers Licence the Learner will not be released.

2. If your Domestic Worker or taxi service is fetching learner they must be introduced to the Principal and Teacher beforehand and parents are to furbish the school with a copy of their ID documents

Fees PolicyThe school Governing Body will determine the fee structure, based on the needs of the school. This will be reviewed at the end of each financial year, and parents will be informed, in writing, of any changes.All parents/guardians of learners are required to fulfil the Financial obligations to the school and pay their fees upfront, by the 7th of every month.Failure to pay fees, without prior discussion with the Principal, will lead to steps being taken, by the SGB, to ask the said parents to remove the learner from the roll, until the amount owing is fully paid.There will be no reimbursed fees for absence, unless the child is hospitalised for a long period of time and a doctor’s certificate is provided.Due to the increased costs, ESKOM and water, and allowing for annual increase for our teachers, we have raised the monthly fees to R950, for 2016.Fees will be R950 per month (for 10 months) R617,50 for January and R332,50 for December, (i.e. R47.50 per day) starting13 January 2016. A R150 equipment fee on Enrolment, is to accompany all new Enrolment formsFEES: R950 per month

Policy regarding payment of School Fees, Late Payment and Late Collection Fines

1. Applications for enrolment shall be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee in an amount to be determined yearly and reflected on the application form.

2. The purpose of this policy is to ensure that fees due to the school are paid when they are due and to create a procedure to deal with instances where fees are not paid.

3. Failure to pay fees on time places considerable and unnecessary burden on the school. We are placed under financial pressure as our ability to meet our own financial obligations is compromised.

4. There are two fee structure: Part time and Full Time, please indicate which one you require. SCHOOL FEE STRUCTURE

7. Failure to make full payment of the outstanding fees and penalties will result in the pupil concerned being suspended and will not be permitted to return to school until the full outstanding amount is settled.

8. Any school fees outstanding as at the 1st of December will result in the report and transfer documents being withheld until the total outstanding has been settled, the school may also terminate the learners enrolment for the following year. Children may arrive between 7:30 and 7:45am the school morning finishes at 12:00 (noon) please fetch children promptly, as they can be stressed and teachers have a lot of preparation for the next day. On late collection of your Learner (12:30 onwards), Learner will be put in after care and parents are responsible for aftercare fee.

9. This is a legal and binding contract between us, the parents, and Pennington Pre-Primary School. The school shall be entitled to instruct its attorneys to attend to the collection of outstanding accounts and the parents will be liable for the payment of all costs incurred, on the scale as between attorney and own client, including collection fees. In the event of action instituted the parent’s consent to the Magistrate’s Court jurisdiction.

10. We choose as our domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes, including the giving of any notice required or permitted hereunder and any proceedings which may be instituted by virtue hereof, at our Residential Address, E-mail Address, and Postal Address as stated on Page 6 of the Application for Admission.

All children, irrespective of race, colour, creed, language group, disability or AIDS status, will be permitted to enrol at Pennington Pre-Primary provided that parents guarantee to pay the required fees, decided by SGB

DISCIPLINE POLICY 

Learners, are expected to obey the rules of the school, as laid down in the attached documents, and respect staff, peers and equipment atAll timesAll parents and learners will be made aware of these rules, via a copy of the document and during orientation week in the 1rst Term.Failure to comply with these rules will result in appropriate “punishment” in the form of:1 Time out on the grow good m2 Cleaning/ tidy up any mess they have made.3 Apologise to any “injured” partyIf, after applying these measures, the learner continues to contravene the rules, a letter will be written to the parents.Should there still be no improvement, or if the misbehaviour is considered serious, by the Principal, the parents will be called in for an interview. SNACKSChildren are required to bring a lunch box, CLEARLY marked with their name, containing at least one slice of bread and small portion of fruit.Each child is also required to bring a juice bottle, but No FIZZY DRINKSPLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO BRING SWEETS, CHIPS, CAKE OR ICED BISCUITS TO SCHOOL.

Each child must have:1  A bag which is clearly marked with their name containing, a spare set of clothes and packet for wet

clothes2 A medium sized hard covered book (will be provided by the School)3 Please check your child's note book daily and sign the notes so that we know that they have been read.4 Any messages to the staff should be written in the note book5 Staff will provide a symbol for your child's book. No other stickers are to be used6 Caterpillar/Ladybird class must please have a packet of wet wipes and at least 2 sets of spare clothes7 Children in nappies to have at least 3 extra nappies in their bag

 GENERAL   1 It is requested that toys be left at home, as the school cannot be held responsible for loss or damage.2 It is essential that changes of address and telephone numbers (both home and business) be given to

the school immediately3 Any lift arrangements between parents must be made known to the principal. We WILL NOT take VERBAL messages from Children.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT

1. Learner’s enrolment will be subject to the conditions stated hereunder or such other conditions which may have been determined by the Board of Governors or their duly authorised representatives (the Board) from time to time. 2. Applications for enrolment shall be in the form specified and shall be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee in an amount to be determined from time to time and reflected on the application form. 3. The REGISTRATION fee, STATIONERY fee and TOILETRIES are not refundable under ANY circumstances. 4. The parents agree to be bound by the RULES, REGULATIONS, POLICIES & PROCEDURES of the school, as determined from time to times, and enunciated by the Board and/or the Principal. 5. Serious breach of the rules, regulations, policies and procedures may result in a Disciplinary Hearing, Suspension or even expulsion of the Learner from Pennington Pre-Primary School. 6. The Principal will act in “loco parentis” whilst the Learner attends Pennington Pre-Primary School. 7. Fees are payable in advance, before or on the 7th day of the month. Fees are payable, either annually or monthly or termly in advance, Non-payment shall entitle the Board to withdraw

educational services and cancel the Enrolment of the learner forthwith unless an arrangement has been made with the Principal8. To give ONE CALENDAR MONTHS WRITTEN NOTICE if the Learner is going to leave the school.9. The school contract is an OPEN ENDED CONTRACT and you need not apply at the school every year, the Learner will automatically move to the next grade if no WRITTEN NOTICE is received. 10. We the parents further agree that in the event of an emergency arising in terms of which the pupil will require urgent medication, the pupil may be taken to the nearest hospital, clinic or doctor at the discretion of the Principal or authorised senior staff member. The parents undertake to accept full responsibility for any medical costs incurred in the event of such an emergency. 11. The parents hereby indemnify and agree to hold harmless Pennington Pre-Primary School, the Board of Governors, the Principal and Staff, or the authorised agents or representatives of the aforementioned, against any and all claims, howsoever arising, including negligence, arising out of any injury, death, loss, damage, cost or expense, including legal costs, suffered by the learner or a third party as a result of or during the enrolment of the learner at the school. 12. To take full responsibility in the case of lost clothing due to the fact that it was not marked properly. 13. We understand that this is a legal and binding contract between us and Pennington Pre-Primary school. The school shall be entitled to instruct its attorneys to attend to the collection of outstanding accounts and the parents will be liable for the payment of all costs incurred. 14.
