` 2. Power Minister launches State Rooftop Solar Attractiveness Index- SARAL The index will incentivize rooftop solar by promoting healthy competition among the states. The index is calculated based on the attractiveness of rooftop development. Karnataka has been placed in the first position, followed by Telangana and Gujarat. 3. Rajiv Gauba to be new Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre, will be the new Cabinet Secretary. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the appointment with a term of two years. 1. ISRO’s Chandrayaan-2 enters lunar orbit Chadrayaan-2 has entered the lunar orbit, and ISRO is now moving it gradually towards the moon with the help of onboard propulsion system of the spacecraft. Three more manoeuvers will be carried out on 28 th , 30 th August and 1 st September. The lander and rover will soft-land on the moon surface on 7 th September. 4. Kiren Rijiju, Baichang Bhutia kick off Delhi leg of Op-Blue Freedom Op- Blue Freedom is an initiative in which armed forces veterans will train sports enthusiast in survival training and self-defence. It is an adaptive scuba diving programme for Divyangs and the able-bodied. 5. Indian Men’s and Women’s hockey teams win Olympic Test Event The men’s hockey team defeated New Zealand by 5-0 in the finals while women’s Japan 2-1 in Olympic Test Event in Tokyo.
