New classroom blocks opened by Foundation TheBlueSkiesFoundationhasrecentlyinauguratedtwonewclassroomblocksinGhana.TheyincludeanewthreeclassroomblockwithprovisionforanICTcentreandstaffcommonroomforChintoJuniorHighSchoollocatedneartotheBlueSkiesfactoryinDobroinGhana,andathreeclassroomblockwithstaffcommonroom,officeandstoreforPanpansoPrimarySchoollocatedinafarmingcommunityintheEasternRegionofGhana.

Bothprojectswillmeanthatstudentswillnolongerhavetostudyundertreesortravelmilestothenearestsuitableschoolinordertoreceiveaneducation.

TodatetheFoundationhascompletedoverfiftycommunityprojectsinGhana,SouthAfricaandSenegal.ThisyeartheFoundationisalsoembarkingonitssecondSchoolFarmoftheYearcompetitioninGhanatoencourageyoungpeopletoengagepositivelywithfarminginabidtofindtheagriculturalleadersofthefuture.

Blue Skies Egypt wins Recognition Award

BlueSkiesEgypthasbeenawardedbyTheAssociationofSupplyChainProfessionalsASCPonitslaunchceremonyonSaturday15October2016.ASCPisanewlyestablishedNGO,representingallstakeholdersofthesupplychainandlogisticsprofessionals.

BlueSkiesEgypthassupportedthisnewlydevelopedassociationinmanyaspects.OurLogisticsManager,MohamedShalabyisaco-founderofASCP.

BlueSkiesEgyptrepresentsamodelofexcellence,notonlyonqualityandperformance,butalsoinsupplychainmanagementandlogistics.ThemodelofouroperationwasusedasacasestudywiththeacademicsattheCollegeofInternationalTransportandLogistics(CITL).

BSEhasalsoparticipatedwithCITLandASCPtodevelopthecurriculumcontentbysharingtheviewsoftradeandindustryprofessionalsonexpectationsfromgraduatesofCITL.BSEhasprovidedtrainingopportunitiesforCITLstudentsalonglastfewyears,aswellassharingintrainingworkshopsdevelopedbyCITLstaffandstudents.

Sharing Safety Best Practices in Ghana On30thSeptember,2016,aten-memberSafetyteamfromGraphicCommunicationsGrouppaidacourtesycallonBlueSkiesGhana.ThemainobjectiveoftheirvisitwastofamiliarizethemselveswiththeSafetyManagementsystemofBlueSkiesGhanaandalsotofostergoodindustrialrelationshipbetweenthetwocompanies.ThiswasareturnvisitasBlueSkiessafetycommitteevisitedthemin2014forsimilarreasons.Theywerehostedintheconferencehut,whereabriefpresentationontheBlueSkiesculturewasdonebyAlistairDjimatey(P.R/FoundationManager)andfollowedbytheBlueSkiesSafetyManagementpresentationbyWisdomTukpih(OSHOfficer).Theywerelatertakenonatourinandaroundthenon-restrictedareasofthefactory.TheywereverymuchimpressedandappreciativeofthefactthatBlueSkiesisdoingalotforthecountryandalsoconfessedtheyhavealottolearnfromBlueSkies,especiallyfromthegoodsafetypracticestheyhaveseen.Theyhowever,pledgedtosupportintheformoffreepublicationsinthenewspapersanytimetheyarecalledupon.TheyalsopromisedtocollaboratewithBlueSkiesintheareasofsportsandphysicalexercisesinthenearfuture.
