- Downtown Boulder losing business to suburban shopping malls.- Boulder Tomorrow founded in 1966 to advocate for downtown redevelopment.- Sasaki & Associates hired to develop downtown master plan.

- Pedestrian mall constructed along Pearl Street.- Aimed to bring suburban shopping experience to the urban core.
1977 - Present
