About The BandParticipation in the 75th Anniversary Pearl Harbor Mass Band is an opportunity to perform with bands from around the United States of America and Japan in a mass band concert commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 2016.

December 7, 1941 is forever etched in the history and culture of both countries. It is our ultimate goal to pay respect, remember and never forget the tragedies of World War II. Our mission of this cultural exchange is to show the world in a truly remarkable manner how cultures once opposed can now work together and learn from each other through the gift of music.

This is a Once in a Lifetime opportunity for music students, and the event is open to all that wish to participate.

Band ItineraryDay 1 - Sunday, December 4, 2016Arrive in Honolulu. Meet your Tour Manager, who will be your escort through the duration of your activi-ties. Transfer to your Waikiki hotel for check-in. Evening Welcome Pizza Party.

Day 2 - Monday, December 5, 2016Travel to Oahu’s most famous landmark, Diamond Head, and experience the exhilarating climb to the sum-mit. Head back to the hotel for some time at leisure. Enjoy a sailing adventure, surf lesson or relax on the beach. Attend an Authentic Hawaiian Luau where you will be doing the hula, enjoying traditional Hawaiian foods, music, and entertainment.

Day 3 - Tuesday, December 6, 2016Depart for Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial. Today you will learn one of our country’s most valuable history lessons - how men and women gave their lives on December 7, 1941 “The Day of Infamy.” Panoramic drive including The National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl), Washington Place which is the Governor’s Mansion, the State Capitol Building, Iolani Palace and the King Kamehameha Statue. Partic-ipate in the 75th Anniversary Mass Band Kick Off Event. Assemble with bands from across America and Japan. The flags of both countries will be presented, singing National Anthems and experiencing firsthand the stories of two of the most influential post World War II Music composers and conductors from The United States of America and Japan. We will also introduce the winners of the International Honor Band. Participate in the 75th Anniversary Mass Band Rehearsal.

Day 4 - Wednesday, December 7, 2016Depart for the USS Battleship Missouri Memorial, the site of the surrender that ended World War II. Per-form in the 75th Anniversary Mass Band Concert. Today we are here to remember and never forget what happened on this day so many years ago. Our band made up of youth musicians from America and Japan will join together for a once in a lifetime occasion to demonstrate in a truly remarkable manner, how cul-tures once opposed can join together sharing cultural practices and presenting the world, “A Gift of Music!” Enjoy meeting new friends with a deli style picnic lunch under large Banyan Trees with a spectacular view of Pearl Harbor. Evening International Honor Band Celebration Concert. Farewell Dinner including food stations of ethnic cuisine from Hawaii, Japan and some of America’s favorites.

Day 5 - Thursday, December 8, 2016Time permitting; morning at leisure for sightseeing, shopping or time to relax on the beach. Optional Tours will be available for this day. Depart for home with memories for a lifetime.

Longer tour options, with or without additional performance opportunities, are available upon request.
