Peace is an art...A Multilingual Peace Project

An etwinning project in the schoolyear 2015/16

Greek students (from Munich)Spanish students

Greetings from the

students…

We communicate…

Aranda de

Duero

Munich

Concept of Peace

Peace and war

mean to us…

…and we

express it with

grafittis

A olive tree

covered in

peace words

The olive tree is a symbol of peace in

many contries

We express

peace with

books…

…with songs…

…and with

movies

Our video about

politicians and the

excuses they make up

about peace

Nobody understands why this all happens and when it will end....There is a long tradition of writing comedies for serious issues like war, for example Peace (421 b.c.) and Lysistrata (411 bc) by Aristophanes... This video (2016 d.c.) follows this tradition.

We suffer with

some news,

like Aylan

Kurdi’s death…Ai Weiwei poses as drowned Syrian child Alan

Kurdi…

… and that inspired us

… or terrorist

attacks in

Turkey, France,

Belgium and so

many places

Our conceptual

maps on peace

Concentration Camp of Dachau

The Greek students in

Munich live near

Dachau…

…so they visited

it…

…and made this video with their

photos

Guernica,by Pablo Picasso

Guernica or Gernika, is a town in the Basque Country, in the North of Spain. Historically, its inhabitants would hold assemblies under local big trees. By 1512, its oak, known as the Gernika Tree, became symbolic of the traditional rights of the Basque people as a whole.

The town of Gernika

Gernika is best known as the scene of the Bombing of Guernica. On April 26, 1937, during the Spanish Civil War, the town was razed to the ground by German aircraft, sent by Hitler to support Franco's troops. For almost four hours bombs rained down on Guernica in an "experiment" for the blitzkrieg tactics and bombing of civilians seen in later wars.

Bombing of Gernika

It inspired the painting Guernica by Pablo Picasso.

The Spanish

students visitedGernika…

…and itsPeace

Museum

The mission of the Gernika Peace Museum is to preserve, display, disseminate, research and educate visitors in the basic ideas of the culture of peace and what she has has to do with the history of Gernika.

Greek and Spanish

students went deeply

into Guernica…

…and some works of

art it has inspired

Picasso’s Guernica

inspired us too

Dissemination of our Peace

project

We created a magazine…

…a big poster…

…and a booklet

This project has

been a gorgeous

experience

Thank you!!!
