Loose
clothing

jewelry

entangled

the
moving
parts

themachine.
Wearsafetyshoes&safetyhelmetswhensettingupandcarryingoutloadtests.
Wearsafetygogglesandearmuffswhennecessary.
2. Work AreaCordonoffandpositionbarricadesaroundalltestarea.
Keepworkareaasclearaspossiblesinceclutteredareasandbenchesinvitesaccidents.
Donotsmoke,litter,runorfoolaroundinthelaboratory.
BefamiliarwithlabEmergencyPreparednessProcedureseglocationoffire fightingequipment&exits.
Locationsofthefireextinguishersareclearlyshownatthenoticeboardatthestoreandatallexits.
Secureapparatus
and
specimens
properly
to
prevent
them
from
falling
down,
especially
during
load
tests.
Stackandsecuretestedspecimensproperlyintheallocatedareabeforedisposal.
Safetyshoesmustbewornwhenlabusersareoutofthedesignatedwalkwaymarkedyellow.
3. Stay AlertTakenoteofanysignoftestinprogress.
Donotliftlargeorheavyobjectinthelaboratorybyyourself,getstaffforhelp.
Donotcarryouttestswhentired.
Reportanyaccidenttolaboratorystaffimmediately.ThereisafirstaidboxintheLab.
4. Use of Materials and EquipmentDo
not
use
any
material
or
equipment
without
permission
from
staff.
Usepropertoolsfortherightjob/equipment.
DonotoperateOverheadCrane,Forklift,Scissorslift,Stacker,etc.
5. Load TestObtainconfirmationfromsupervisorforthesetupbeforecommencingloadtest.
Donotcarryoutloadtestswithoutpropersupervision.

6.1 All research work,
especially the testing offull-scale specimens.

Allstaffandresearchpersonnelenteringthecordonedareamustwear
safetyshoesandhelmets.

mustbesafelystackedandsecured.

6.3 Routineundergraduate
Laboratorywork.

undertakenbystudentsbutunderthesupervisionofatechnicalstaff.
Studentsshouldbebriefedontheproperandsafehandlingof
equipmentandoperation,andbeinformedoftheappropriateworking
attire.

regulationsarecompliedwith.
6.5 Visitors to PE Lab. a.

thelaboratory

laboratorysafetyrules.Inparticular,locationsoffirefightingequipment
andfireexitsmustbeindicatedtothem.
7. RiskAssessmentLaboratory users must do a risk assessment before commencing work in the laboratory.
