Five DecadesOccidental has had a presence in Texas since 1963. Occidental’s
corporate headquarters, as well as oil and gas operations and
midstream and marketing operations, are based in Houston.
Occidental’s wholly owned subsidiary OxyChem is based in Dallas.
Largest in the Permian BasinOccidental is the largest operator and producer of oil in the
Permian Basin with an approximate 12 percent net share of the
total oil production in the basin. The Permian Basin accounts for
approximately 16 percent of total U.S. oil production.
A Texas Top-Oil Producer Occidental is one of the largest oil producers in Texas, the No. 1
oil-producing state in the U.S. In 2016, Occidental’s production was
approximately 251,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in Texas.
Dominant Permian Acreage Holder Occidental is one of the largest acreage holders in the Permian
Basin with approximately 2.5 million net acres.
CO2 EOR Leader Occidental is the largest injector of carbon dioxide (CO2 ) in the
Permian Basin, injecting an average of 2.0 billion cubic feet per day.
We are an industry leader in applying this enhanced oil recovery (EOR)
technology, with 31 active floods and over 40 years of experience.

210% Permian Reserve Replacement
In 2016, Occidental replaced about 210 percent of its Permian
Basin production, with Permian Resources, its high-growth
unconventional drilling asset, replacing 290 percent of production.
Occidental’s total company reserve replacement ratio was
189 percent in 2016.
Nearly $1.1 Bi l l ion in Royalt ies and Taxes In 2016, Occidental paid $685 million in royalties on production
from its Texas oil and natural gas properties, and $400 million in
Texas state and local taxes.
Local Workforce At year-end 2016, Occidental had more than 12,000 employees and
contractors in Texas and over 33,000 worldwide. Occidental employees
in Texas have worked for the company an average of 10 years.
Permian Basin Headquarters Occidental’s Permian Basin headquarters is located in Midland.
The office complex is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies,
tools and automated systems.
Training Excel lence Occidental’s Midland Technical Training Center provides employees
and contractors a real-world training environment to drive operational
excellence, consistency, collaboration and safe work practices.
Leader in Safety Our 2016 employee and contractor Injury and Illness Incidence
Rate (IIR) of 0.28 is less than one-tenth of the current U.S.
private industry average IIR of 3.0 published by the U.S. Bureau
of Labor Statistics.
Midstream and MarketingOccidental’s midstream operations own and operate 2,900 miles of
common carrier pipeline with 720,000 barrels per day of capacity,
ensuring equity and third-party production access to optimum
market locations. In 2016, we began exporting from our Ingleside
Crude Oil Terminal to domestic and international markets.
OxyChem Occidental Chemical (OxyChem) is a leading manufacturer of
basic chemicals and vinyls, with a market position among the top
three U.S. producers for the principal products it manufactures
and markets.
Ethylene Cracker OxyChem operates a 1.2 billion pound-per-year capacity ethylene
cracker at its plant in Ingleside, along with a pipeline and storage
facility in Markham. The cracker, a 50/50 joint venture with
Mexichem that was constructed on time and on budget, began
commercial operations in 2017.
EOR Education In Midland, Occidental provided funding to the Permian Basin
Petroleum Museum to establish an EOR exhibit, including an
animated model that demonstrates the closed-loop process of
CO2 EOR from injection to production.
Wildl i fe Conservation Occidental voluntarily enrolled approximately 640,000 acres and
committed more than $3 million toward conservation plans in the
Permian Basin to protect the Lesser Prairie Chicken, a candidate
species for listing under the Endangered Species Act, and the
Dunes Sagebrush Lizard.
Social ly Responsible Occidental strives to be a good neighbor in all of the communities
where we operate. A key initiative is our partnership with Houston
Methodist Hospital, which seeks to improve health care for
underserved patients.
