PERSONAL FALL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT Anchors The Anchor point can be permanent or temporary and is used to attach your lifeline or lanyard to. It is one of integral parts of your Personal Fall Arrest System and should be rated for 5,000 (23kN) pound strength to meet OSHA fall arrest standards. Lifelines Lifelines come in many styles and lengths. The most common lifeline is the “vertical” lifeline that attaches directly to the anchor point. Another lifeline is the Self-Retracting Lifeline which automatically retracts back into the case. The vertical lifeline will always have a rope grab attached to it to arrest or stop you in the event of a fall. Shock Absorbers A shock absorber simply reduces the fall arrest forces generated by a free fall. It is a mandatory piece of your fall arrest system to ensure that you do not generate too much force load. Some shock absorbers are permanently attached to the D-Ring on the harness while others can be added separately. Harnesses A full body harness offers the best protection if you fall. They are designed to distribute the forces to the strongest part of the body and offer you the highest degree of safety. We offer numerous different sizes to make sure that you get a harness that fits properly. Rope Grabs A rope grab travels with you along the lifeline and automatically engages the lifeline to stop a fall. We offer two types of ropes grabs: 1) a industry standard mechanical grab that is made of metal and 2) a “Prussic” grab that is manu- factured of high-strength rope specifically designed for use by residential construction workers. Connecting Hardware Connectors consist of snap hooks, D-rings and carabiners. They will be some of the most frequently used parts of your fall arrest system and are used to connect all of the different parts of your system together. All SAS Connectors are rated for OSHA fall arrest 5,000 (23kN) pound strength. Super Anchor Safety
