Night Vision Extends Nikon D800 Low-light Capability

Now, stabilized high sensitivity imaging for the night photographer

For Immediate Release

Sofradir EC has introduced a new high performance night vision module to its Electrophysics line

of AstroScope Night Vision Products. The new module has been designed for use with the Nikon

D800 High Definition SLR Camera which features a full HD 1080p video capability and 36MP

CMOS sensor array. With the AstroScope 9350-NIK-FF, the Nikon D800 portable camera delivers

extraordinary green images of night-time scenes having full image format, high sensitivity and

edge-to-edge sharpness. A video review of the AstroScope-equipped D800 can be found here:

www.nightvisioncameras.com/prnikonD800.html

The AstroScope 9350-NIK-FF's Night Vision Module can also be used with the other Nikon-

based digital SLR cameras with the same functionality required to perform night-time imaging

applications including surveillance, intelligence/evidence gathering and low-light photography.

Because the AstroScope fits between the camera body and SLR objective lens, all the lens

electrical connections are maintained and important lens features such as optical image

stabilization remain fully functional even in night vision mode. This enables the photographer

on-the-move to further benefit from the low-light performance, using shutter speeds that are

otherwise too slow to prevent blur. Optically stabilized night vision enables the night time

photographer to generate sharper images with long lenses, sometimes a 3-4 F-stop

improvement.

At the heart of the AstroScope 9350-NIK-FF

Night Vision Module is a central

intensification unit that transforms dark,

moonlit or starlit nights into bright green,

high-resolution scenes. The modules deliver

optimum performance, the sharpest detail

and highest quality full-frame images with no

vignetting, a common problem with other

night vision configurations. The AstroScope

night vision module is also available with a

variable gain control enabling the night-time photographer to increase the brightness of the

images when ambient lighting is such that images are otherwise too dark to photograph.

Normally, the AstroScope delivers the equivalent of 8-10 F-stops light gathering improvement.

With the variable gain feature, the available light amplification is further improved. In addition,

when photographing relatively well-lit night-time scenes, the gain can be minimized to reduce

image noise.

The AstroScope has received praise from professionals as the ideal accessory for both video

and photo applications by combat camera photographers, as well as professional, broadcast

and military photographers. When configured with AstroScope Night Vision, the high

performance Nikon D800 HD Camera gives users the ability to acquire low light images with

breathtaking detail at night. Other night vision videos can be found here:

Intensify your dSLR withAstroScope

AstroScope converts HD digital SLR

cameras and video camcorders into

high-performance night vision

systems helping photographers

capture high resolution images at

night and in low-light situations

otherwise too dark for

unintensified cameras.

Intensify Your Camcorder

Transform your digital camcorder

and capture high resolution images

at night and in low-light situations

otherwise too dark for standard

digital video. With AstroScope, the

light amplification is equivalent to

the improvement of 8-10 F-stops

so that moonlit or starlit scenes

are transformed into bright, high

resolution images that are easily

video recorded.
