Dear Creek Community, This edition of the Home Herald will be the last for the 2014-2015 school year. It is difficult to believe that the school year passed by so quickly. This year was full of celebrations in the areas of academics, activities and athletics. Yet, what makes me most proud to be the principal of Cherry Creek High School is the caliber of people at the school and in the community. Our students are good people, our staff is the best in the state, and I could not ask for a better parent group to support the students and the school. It is great to be a member of the Bruin Family. The most difficult part of this time of year is saying goodbye to our Bruins. Each year close to 900 students graduate from Creek as educated, well-rounded young adults prepared to go into the world and contribute to society. Just like any parent, I am excited for them as they go off into the world to learn more and grow, but I am also sad to see them go. Often times with the departure of our seniors also comes a farewell to parents who no longer will have a student at the school. Just as I will say on graduation day, our stu-dents and parents are always welcome at Cherry Creek regardless of where you may go or how long you are away. Once you are a Bruin, you are always a Bruin! Plans and preparations for next year are already underway. We are in the process of interviewing for openings we have for next year and we have al-ready hired two outstanding teachers whom I expect to be great additions to the faculty. Unfortunately, we not only welcome new members to the family during this time of the year, but also bid farewell to faculty members who are retiring. This year we say goodbye and thank you to Doug Aglietti, Michael Brookhart, Katherine Carothers, Willie Fox, Mike Nutter, Sue Shaw, Susie Smith and Denise Lantz. There are a few celebrations I want to highlight that occurred in the last month. First, both our robotics team and computer science team have advanced to the world competitions. I am proud of both groups of students for their hard work and achievement. It is especially impressive when you consider the programs are in their infancy. Two of our more established pro-grams, Debate and DECA, performed extremely well at state and will now send a high number of students on to nationals. Assistant Principal, Doug Aglietti, re-ceived the Golden Heart Award for always going above and beyond the call of duty in terms of assuring our students with special needs receive the best education

FROM THE WEST OFFICEpossible. We hope to have more celebrations as the year comes to an end. The athletic arena has potential for several celebrations as spring play has been strong. I encourage you to come out and support our Bruins. In closing, I do want to wish our seniors luck in their final days at Cherry Creek and I remind them of the high expectations I have for them. My hope is they will leave without any regrets and they will stay devoted to their education beyond our 82 acre campus. The class of 2015 is the 60th class to graduate from this fine insti-tution and they will leave an impressive legacy. To our underclassmen, I also wish you luck on the upcoming final exams. The Class of 2015 has set the standard high in so many areas and now it is up to the younger students to also leave an equally impressive legacy on this school. I hope your summer plans include rest, fun, and a great deal of family time. The students have worked hard and deserve a wonderful summer va-cation. Please do not hesitate to contact me this summer if you have any concerns or questions.

Best wishes,

Ryan T. Silva, Principal

Doug Aglietti, Golden Heart Award Recipient, 2015

PTCO MEETING RECAP ~ March 12, 2015Call to Order/Welcome: The meeting was called to order at 9:15 am by Anita Turner-Corwin. Anita motioned to approve the minutes, seconded by Catherine Cooper and unanimously approved.

Introduction of the CCHS “Exceptional Volunteer of the Year” Anita introduced Christine Tesmer as the CCHS Exceptional Volunteer of the Year. Christine is a jack-of-all trades at Creek and handles things beautifully. A dinner for all of the district’s exceptional volunteers will be held at Denver Marriott South at Park Meadows on Thursday, April 23rd, at 5:30 pm.

Principal Ryan Silva, “State of Creek” update: Principal Silva commended Christine Tesmer on her years of exceptional service at Creek She chaired Future Bruin’s Day, a very important and critical event for Creek. Ryan mentioned that he is anticipating enrollment growth next year. This year’s growth was only slightly higher at 3450 students. Enrollment could potentially increase by 120 students over the next two years. Doug Aglietti is retiring, a dean position is opening up, and a math position is open that may be filled by a part-time teacher already in the department. Ryan usu-ally hires 12 positions a year, but this year there are fewer. The Creek students who built the scheduling program are also using their program to help with staffing. Next year’s registration showed increases in Business, Chinese, and dance course offerings. Physical Education registration is down because students are so busy. Ryan is looking into offering fitbits for online physical education. Academic awards were held last week with 470 kids earning an academic letter (3.75 overall GPA, or 4.00 in one semester). A few teachers and students were recognized with specific achievement awards including students Grace Rooney and Sirey Zhang, teacher Virginia De Cessere (social studies), and librarian Evelyn Scott. PARCC testing was held March 9th, 10th, and 11th. The opt-out numbers were very high. The highest number of students taking the tests were in the 9th grade class at just over 200 students testing. Ryan said that not including ACT tests, last year’s students sat for three full days of TCAP testing. This year students have five and a half testing days (not including ACT), and one additional CMAS test for seniors. Ryan is happy to answer any questions about testing and said that concerns are not unique to Colorado. If you have a senior, please look for a letter in the mail encouraging your student to make good decisions this spring and not jeopardize walking at graduation. Creek is looking for parents to help assist AP proctors with testing. Creek won the State Championship in ice hockey. The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 am.

Nancy Buck, Ph.D.

WHY DO KIDS ACT THAT WAY? HANDLING CONFLICT AT HOME From birth to death, everything we do in life is an attempt to meet our need for safety, love, power, fun and freedom. The essence of parent/child conflict is that the child wants freedom while parents want the safety of holding them in. Success lies in teaching children how to go out safely and then letting them go.

Kids are Hard-wired from Birth PIN’s March presentation featured developmental psychologist Nancy Buck, who taught about Choice Theory,

which explains human behavior. “We’re all born with genetic instructions, and we experience these instructions as urges to behave in certain ways,” Buck explained. Each urge is a response to a need for safety, love, power, fun or freedom. For example, no one has to instruct a baby to stand and then walk; in an urge for freedom and fun, the baby tries and tries again until he or she finally succeeds.

Rather than denying that these urges exist, parents should teach their children how to handle them responsibly and safely. “Parents should give their children only as much freedom as they have responsible behaviors to handle. Any more than that,

and children will get frightened,” Buck said. “Our job is to slowly increase our children’s freedom as we teach—and they follow— responsible behaviors.” It’s more art than science. Striking the right balance of freedom and boundaries depends on the maturity and temperament of each child.

Getting Through Conflict “By responding with ‘No’ to a child’s request, parents set themselves up for a fight,” Buck explained. Rather than stonewalling your child, she advises putting off your answer for a later time. “Then ask yourself, do I understand the request? Does the child have the responsible behaviors to handle the freedom of the situation?” Parents should also consider what they’re afraid of, and whether there’s another way to handle their concerns apart from saying No.

Buck stressed the need to create an environment of learning. “As human beings, we exist in two states: We’re either closed for protection or open for learning.” For example, a child being scolded for bad behavior will be closed for protection. Rather than seeing the wisdom of the better choice they missed, they’re more apt to see a parent who has lost control.

“Learning takes place in a calm moment, after both parent and child have calmed down,” Buck said. When the calm moment arrives, ask your child what it is they’re trying to get through the bad behavior. Buck describes this as a “magical question” because children will almost always answer it. “Then add, ‘If we can figure out a way to help you get what you want that’s respectful and responsible, would you be interested in learning?’” Think through ideas with them, brainstorming to find solutions and possible compromises.

“Parenting is the most important job we’ll do,” said Buck. “The best instructions we’ve got are from our own parents, but just repeating what they did doesn’t always make sense. You need to ask yourself why you’re doing things.” Get more help for parent/child conflict at www.peacefulparenting.com.

COUNSELING CONNECTIONTHE CREEK COUNSELING CONNECTION

Preparing for As summer quickly approaches, you and your student may want to consider some options which will assist him/her with academic, college, and/or life preparation. 1. SUMMER SCHOOL: Your student may choose to repeat a high school core class (English, Social Studies, Math, Science) in which he/she earned a grade of “D” or “F.” Retaking a course can reinforce learning, as well as improve GPA. Two sessions of summer school will be offered. The first session will run from June 8-26, 2015 at Overland High School and the second from July 6-24, 2015 at Smoky Hill High School. Classes meet from 8:00am to 12:20pm, Monday thru Friday and transportation will NOT be provided. More information may be obtained though the CCSD Summer School link: http://cherrycreekschools.org/summerschool To get ahead on graduation requirements, your student may choose to take a course offered through CCSD online summer school. Courses offered include American Government, Economics, Personal Fitness, and Health. Registration information is also available through the summer school link. 2. SUMMER COLLEGE PROGRAM: Your student may choose to participate in a summer college program which can be helpful on college applications, and may help the student explore a field which he/she may be interested in studying in college. You may research these opportunities either through Family Connection by Naviance (on the home page, left hand side under “links” is a link called Enrichment Alley) or by visiting individual college websites for information on high school summer programs. These programs are usually 1-4 weeks in length and will occupy your student’s time from sun-up to sun-down! 3. PAID or VOLUNTEER WORK: Your student may choose to spend the summer working in either a volunteer or paid job. Now is the time to be searching for these opportunities—before college student’s return home! Family Connection by Naviance has a resume link (under the heading “About Me” or a resume format on the home page, top left hand side) which will help your student create or improve a resume. Some other ways to find work or opportunities might be to:

o Check job resource sites: snagajob.com and myfirstpaycheck.com o Watch for signs in windows of local businesses o Network – ask friends and acquaintances about job opportunities o Check out volunteermatch.org

Volunteer and paid work can be very rewarding and will enhance a college application. We encourage students to continue to read for pleasure during the summer. Reading is the best way to help improve test scores! Remember that Creek has summer reading and math assignments to be completed before students return to school in August. This information is available this summer on the CCHS website under the English and Math department pages. We wish your student a happy and productive summer. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your student’s counselor either by telephone or email. Susan Swisher, Counseling Department Coordinator

Juniors If you have not yet done so, please schedule your Junior Conference with your counselor. This meeting is invaluable for ensuring that you meet all graduation requirements, register for the correct courses, and are off to a good start in your post-graduation planning. Parents are highly encouraged to attend if possible! Teacher Recommendation Letters: If you plan to apply to colleges that require recommendation letters, we highly encourage you to approach one teacher who you feel could write a strong letter on your behalf. Some teachers receive requests for letters from over 50 students, and often spend an average of 45 to 60 minutes on each letter. Do them a favor and ask them well in advance! And be sure to say “Thank you!” Teacher Recommendation Forms are available on your Naviance homepage. Complete the form, print it out, and hand it to your recommender AFTER they have agreed to write your letter. The State ACT will be administered on Tuesday, April 28th, 2015. Students do not pay for the administration of this test. This score is considered an official test score by all colleges and universities, including military academies and NCAA Eligibility Center. Do your best! If you are applying to colleges/universities that require the option writing section of the ACT, you will need to register for a national test date. Check the website of the colleges you are considering to determine their testing requirements. We encourage you to take the test either in June, September, or October. You can register at www.actstudent.org Juniors, remember to take advantage of the four free score reports you can send to colleges when you complete your registration for the ACT and/or SAT!

Creek 201 kicks off in April and students will attend two mandatory lunchtime small group sessions with their counselor, focusing on interest and career exploration. Students will complete a career interest inventory on Naviance and save careers to a list that could lead to possible majors and colleges in the future. Thank you for your attention in completing your Creek 201 tasks.

Freshmen should focus on a strong finish to their 2nd semester. Grades in rigorous classes are the most important thing at this point. Students should take self-scheduling seriously as they consider their schedule for sophomore year. Students who have questions about self-scheduling should see one of our On-Call Counselors during 4th, 5th, or 6th period in the counseling office. Have a wonderful and refreshing Spring! May 2015

Juniors If you have not yet scheduled your Junior Conference, you have limited time left to do so! Get on your counselor’s schedule!

It has been an amazing and busy spring in the Post Grad Center. We hosted our first annual “Evening with the College Deans” and our annual “Senior Day” in the Post Grad Center. We are very proud of our programming and we put a lot of effort in making sure that it is relevant and accurate. Our programming can be found on the CCHS College Planning Schedule. Some companies or outside programs rent our space through the district and try to make it appear as if their program is sponsored by Cherry Creek. Please be aware and careful as some of these programs could cost you thousands of dollars. CCHS Programming can only be found on our College Planning Schedule. We hope you have a great end to the school year and a safe summer!

SENIORS: First, we are very proud of you and what you have achieved this year! Congratulations and good luck as you head off for your next big adventure, be that college, the work force, the military, or whatever you have planned. Please keep us informed of any scholarships you are offered, as we maintain a database of scholarships for the Class of 2015.

Reminders: You should have informed your first-choice college of your intent to enroll by May 1st. Also, submit any housing forms or other

documentation that your college may require. It is extremely important to read every piece of mail or e-mail from your chosen institution so that nothing falls between the cracks!

If you have questions or concerns regarding waitlist procedures, financial aid packages, scholarships, or other choices still to be made, stop by our Post Grad Center or see your counselor.

Senior Check-out will begin in Post Grad during the week of May 11th; you will complete three surveys on Family Connection by Naviance (if you haven’t already). Indicate on the Graduation Survey where you plan to enroll in the fall, and we will send your final transcript to this institution. There is no charge for the final transcript. You will be asked if you would be willing to be a contact for other CCHS students who may be interested in your college choice and who may want to contact you for your impressions. You will also complete a survey for the Cherry Creek School District.

Remember to thank those who may have helped you along the way: teachers, counselors, staff, and your parents!

To make your lives easier next year, complete the following steps:

1. Access Naviance at www.succeed.naviance.com/cherrycreek before leaving for summer break. 2. Under the “about me” tab on Naviance: Click on “profile” under “Official Things”to check for accuracy: correct address correct date of birth correct e-mail address (use the e-mail address that you check most often!)

3. Under the “colleges” tab on Naviance: Click on “Colleges I’m Applying To”: Complete Privacy Notice for Common Application Note: We recommend you DO waive your right. Fill in Common Application User Name and Password. NOTE: You will need to go to the Common Application Website,

www.commonapp.org (or click link on bottom left hand side on Naviance homepage) to complete this step, then return and complete on Naviance

Complete “bio,” “address,” and “academics” section on The Common Application Website.

Page 16: Important Dates for Seniors - Cherry Creek High Schoolcherrycreek.cherrycreekschools.org/HomeHerald/Documents...May 11th Senor check-out sheets/Report card forms may be picked up inthe

Note: 1. These steps must be completed for Counselors to complete the Common Application Secondary School Report Form (required) and for teachers to complete the Common Application Teacher Evaluation Form. 2. Colleges and Universities that accept the Common Application can be found at www.commonapp.org.

NOTE: The Common Application for 2015-2016 will go live on their website on August 1, 2015. 4. Consider writing your college essay over the summer! You will give yourself a gift if you arrive at school in the fall with your

college essay either completed or close to it! The Common Application (CA) has changed their essays for the upcoming year. Spend some time reviewing the new prompts before writing your essay. With the craziness of your senior classes, college applications, sports or clubs, a job--life will be stressful enough without the addition of writing your college essay.

5. Create an e-mail address that you can use for all your college-related activities, like online applications and test registration.

6. Check out the admission requirements and application for colleges you are considering to ensure you have planned for all required tests, recommendations, and essays. Most colleges make their applications available after August 1.

Other reminders for juniors: Now is an excellent time to research college choices for next year. You should work ahead this summer on developing your college list or on applications. For example: Request teacher recommendations this spring if you need them for your college applications. This will alleviate time constraints

for both you and your teachers next fall. If you are not sure if your college choices require teacher recommendation(s), see your counselor or the Post Graduate Center staff for assistance.

Visiting college campuses during the spring and summer is an excellent way to get a feel for a school. Perhaps you can build several campus tours into a family vacation. Don’t forget about the excellent colleges and universities right in our own backyard!

Colleges like to see students take advantage of summer enrichment experiences: work, attend a camp, take advantage of summer programs offered on college campuses, travel, or volunteer. Check out “enrichment programs” in Naviance for possibilities.

Read as much as possible about colleges you are interested in. Talk to family and friends about their impressions, but develop your own opinions as well.

SOPHOMORES AND FRESHMEN: Summer can be a great time for you to explore college options as well! Build some college tours into your family vacation, find a job, explore summer camps and enrichment programs, or volunteer. Have a great and relaxing summer! Craig Wittgrove, Post Grad Coordinator

The CCHS award winning Kathleen D. Smith Library is not just a place you can go to check out a book. It is our hub of information and

technology and the place for students to go to…

As one of the premier library programs in the nation, we strive to stay ahead of technology. In order to do this, we need your help to enhance the library experience by upgrading our facilities and technology. A school library is no longer just a place to check out books. If you value the importance of the whole library experience, we ask that you make a donation to the Friends of the Library fund to help us keep the library at Cherry Creek High School the best library on all levels for your child.

Below are the summer reading requirements for students enrolled in these classes for the fall of 2015. Students must read the books listed for any class in which they are enrolled for the fall. Teachers will hold students accountable for having read these books on the first day of class. Whatever class the student is enrolled in before schedule changes in the fall determines which book the student is required to read for the first day of class. We have contacted the CCHS Library/Media Center and Koelbel and Castlewood libraries to let them know there will be students asking to check out these books this summer. We have also contacted our school bookstore and both the Barnes and Nobles and Tattered Cover book stores in our attendance area so that these stores can stock enough books for students who want to buy them.

The school year is winding down and it’s a very excit-ing time of the year for a number of reasons. Seniors are getting ready to graduate and move on to a new chapter of life and other students are looking forward to summer break. But spring also means the Bruins are gearing up for the playoffs. This spring the Bruins have done very well on and off the field. Eight more student-athletes commit-ted to play collegiate sports, bringing the yearly total to 42. As for the varsity sports, most are getting ready for a strong playoff push with multiple teams in the hunt for league titles and state championships. Women’s golf currently sits in first place in the Centennial league as Stephanie Bang and company are having a great season up to this point. Men’s swimming has been lights out as they have won the Dick Rush Invite as well as the Creek Invite. The team has been working hard to win that elusive state title. Another team looking at a league title and state title is women’s ten-nis. Denver Post Athlete of the week Kalyssa Hall leads the way as the lady Bruins try to continue their magical streak. The men’s and women’s track and field teams have some strong components. The men’s team features Stanford bound Daniel Book and the team is looking to win a league title in the toughest league in the state. The women’s team features Cal Berkley commit, Jordyn Colter, along with a strong cast of distance runners. Come and check the teams out over the next few weekends as they prepare for state. Baseball has continued to play well and currently sits in first place in the Centennial League. The boys of summer also have some strong non-league wins as Coach Johnson prepares them to get back to the state title game. With a strong cast of pitching and hitting, this team has the parts to win it all. Another team that has a lot of parts is women’s soccer. The team is coming off a 1-0 win over defending state champ Columbine. This team is very exciting to watch and they have improved all season. The final two spring sports are men’s and women’s lacrosse. Both teams are currently ranked number one in the state. The men have played a very strong schedule and only have an 8-7 blemish on their record when they lost to Summit, NJ. The team doubled up Regis last week 8-4. The women’s lax team has also played a strong schedule beating the number two ranked team in the state, Centaurus. Both teams are very ath-letic and very fun to watch. It should be a great post-season. On May 2nd there will be a track and field Invite at Stutler Bowl all day. After the Invite the men’s lacrosse team will be playing Kent Denver at 7:00 pm in the regular season finale. Their will be a burger tailgate in West parking lot of Stutler Bowl before the game at 5:00. There will be a DJ, $5 meal deals, and games for all ages as the Student Athlete Advisory Council will be on hand to help run the tailgate. Come on out and have some fun and watch the Bruins.

See you there! Jason WilkinsAthletics [email protected]

ACTIVITIES ATHLETICS Hello Families! It is hard to believe that we are already in May and Graduation is upon us. While we are getting ready to say goodbye to the class of 2015, we are also celebrating all of their contributions to Cherry Creek High School. On Monday, May 4th we will celebrate our seniors at an awards ceremony in the Fine Arts Theatre. On this day we will honor our students who will be graduating from Creek with high academic honors, our athletes who have contributed so much to our teams and our athletic program, and students who have spent hours upon hours making our clubs, music groups, and speech and debate teams uniquely ours. We have also had several clubs celebrating their seniors and having their end-of-year banquets.National Honor Society inducted their 107 new members on April 14th at a beautiful ceremony in the Fine Arts Theatre. At the end of April the BRUINS squad held their annual Coalition Din-ner by inviting students from various clubs to their “No Place for Hate” event. FCCLA held their end of year banquet on April 23rd where they honored their 35 state qualifiers and 14 national qualifiers. Ms. Sasha Gartin was also recognized as a Master Adviser at the State FC-CLA Conference. Finally, DECA will present their annual awards at a banquet on May 8th, and our spring play, “Tom Sawyer” closed on April 25th after a successful four show run. It has been busy, to say the least, at Cherry Creek this Spring. In addition to these events, we have some other activities going on to celebrate our Bruin students. On May 19th at noon, our seniors will celebrate the end of their senior year at the Senior Barbeque. Tickets for this event are available in Activities the week of May 11th. The week will conclude with Prom on May 16th from 9 p.m.-12 a.m. Our Masquerade themed Prom will be held at Infinity Park in Glendale. Tickets are on sale in the Activities office starting on May 11th. As always, Junior and Senior students are invited to After-Prom at Brunzwick Zone following Prom. This event is hosted by our AMAZING PTCO parents who have worked all year to make this evening memorable and fun for students. Finally, we will finish the year with Graduation. We have selected several outstanding performers this year for Graduation, which will be held on Wednesday, May 20th at 8:00 a.m. in Stutler Bowl. Have a safe a fun end of the year, and CON-GRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2015!

If you have attended a concert, musical or play at Cherry Creek High School, or have looked at the art on display in the Fine Arts building this past year, you know how lucky we are to have such an amazing performing and visual arts program at our high school. You have also seen the joy of the students who take part in the vibrant CCHS Fine Arts community! Participation in performing and fine arts is known to boost the creative and adaptive skill sets of students. For CCHS, it’s full “STEAM” ahead, as CCHS continues to put the “A for Arts” into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) as a critical component of strong public education. As many of you know, in the spring of 2014, Cherry Creek High School won a Grammy Award for excellence in music education! Also in 2015, 54 CCHS students were selected for All State Choir. Seven students were chosen for All State Jazz Choir, eight for All State Band, and seven for All State Orchestra. Additionally, 7 Orchestra students made it into the Western States Honors Orchestra Festival. CCHS’s Spring Musical Cinderella was a breathtaking collaboration of drama, song, dance and technical theater. We hope you had a chance to see this production of what many kids were calling a “life-changing experience.” Among the numerous events that the Fine Arts Department has already brought to the community this semester are Elephant Man, the Masterworks Concert, and Jazz on the Green. The spring concerts are rapidly approaching, and a new musical will, yet again, grace the CCHS stage in March of 2016! Take the opportunity to enjoy all of the high caliber entertainment right here in our community! Friends of the Arts was established by parents decades ago to help support and maintain a high level of excellence in the Fine Arts Department at Cherry Creek. Funds donated to Friends of the Arts have helped send students to competitions, send instructors to participate in ongoing professional growth opportunities, and support a piano accompanist and orchestra assistant. They continue to help maintain and upgrade Fine Arts equipment, and have helped bring in guest conductors from around the world. Please consider making a donation to the Friends of the Arts at Cherry Creek High School. Friends of the Arts welcomes and values contributions of any amount—whether it’s 10 people giving $10 each or one person giving $100—it’s your participation that makes a difference. Please send donations to: CCHS Friends of the Arts

CO Lacrosse Dear Creek Community, We are pleased to announce the launch of Unified Lacrosse Colorado. Following the example of other Unified Sports, we are excited and proud to promote the game of Lacrosse to people with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. Unified Lacrosse Colorado is the first program of its kind here in Colorado. Developed by a group of teenagers who attend and play lacrosse at Cherry Creek High School, they believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to play lacrosse. At Unified Lacrosse Colorado, Athletes with disabilities will be paired up with Partner-Athletes. The partner-athletes will work alongside the athletes, teaching them the basics of lacrosse and inspiring them to exceed their potential in a noncompetitive environment. Our first event will be the “Kick-Off Camp.” The cost of the Camp is FREE and open to boys and girls, ages 7 to 19 that have intellectual and/or physical disabilities. The Camp includes five sessions and will be held at South Suburban Sports Dome in Centennial Colorado. The dates and times are as follows: Tuesday, May 19th: 4:00pm - 6:00pm Thursday, May 21st: 4:00pm - 6:00pm Tuesday, May 26th: 4:00pm - 6:00pm Tuesday, June 2nd: 1:00pm - 3:00pm Thursday, June 4th: 1:00pm - 3:00pm As you well know, it takes a Village! Unified Lacrosse Colorado is a nonprofit corporation in its infant stages. In order to guarantee its success, we need all the help we can get from our family, friends and community. Our number one goal is to find our athletes! Maybe you know a family with a child who has a disability? If you do, be our voice. Tell them about Unified Lacrosse Colorado. Maybe you know someone that works with children and teens with disabilities. Tell them about us! The more we spread the word about Unified Lacrosse Colorado the more lives we will touch and barriers we will break down. Aligning ourselves with local businesses and corporations will secure our future. Perhaps you work for a corporation or own a business that would love the opportunity to make a difference in a special child’s life? We invite you to support our efforts through sponsorship, monetary donations or in-kind donations. We would also like to be able to provide a helmet, a stick, gloves and goggles to each of our amazing athletes. Our athletes deserve to feel like the real deal! Your donation of any gently used equipment would go far in building excitement and enthusiasm for our athletes. Help us spread the word about Unified Lacrosse Colorado! Be our voice. Get excited! Imagine the possibilities! Be a part of making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities in Colorado through the love of lacrosse. To Register an Athlete, ages 7 to 19 for the Kick-Off Camp, please visit our website at http://www.unifiedlacrosse.com. There are three forms required to complete your registration: A Registration Form, a Liability Waiver and a Physician’s Approval Letter. To Become a Partner-Athlete, you must be age 11 or older and want to make a difference in a child's life. You will find an application and expectations of our partner-athletes on our website at http://www.unifiedlacrosse.com. To Make a Donation, please visit our website at http://unifiedlacrosse.com and use the link entitled DONATION.
