YOUR WORLD OF TESOL TRAINING The Australian TESOL Training Centre (ATTC) is the specialist Teacher Training division of Navitas English. Established in 1983, ATTC now trains over 700 English language teachers each year in a range of courses at our training centres in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney. We also offer overseas TESOL training programs, many of which we design for educational institutions and ministries of education to meet the specific needs of their teachers.

3 Steps to TESOL
ATTC’s 3 Steps to TESOL course is a highly practical TESOL pathway for non-native speaking English teachers, or for anyone interested in becoming a teacher of English.
This 16-week course comprises three of ATTC’s most popular programs:
• English for Teaching Children
• English for Teaching Teenagers
• 40649SA Certificate IV in TESOL or English for TESOL
plus an optional Cambridge English Language Assessment ESOL Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT).
The course is highly flexible so you can choose the best option to meet your needs. For example, you can take the full 16-week 3 Steps to TESOL course, the eight-week Young Learners package (English for Teaching Children and English for Teaching Teenagers) or just a single four-week TESOL module.
At the end of the course, you will also have the option to participate in a two-week voluntary work experience placement in an Australian childcare centre.

The English for Teaching Children course is an excellent introduction to the skills and language you will need to teach English to children of primary school age.
In this course you will:
• develop the English language skills needed to work with children
• participate in practical teaching demonstrations given by your experienced teacher trainer
• plan and teach your own lessons
• learn fun, practical activities that you can conduct with children

The English for Teaching Teenagers course provides an excellent introduction to the methodology and language skills needed to teach English to teenagers of high school age.
In this course you will:
• discover how teenagers learn
• learn how to motivate teenagers: tasks and activities that encourage them to communicate in English
• develop language awareness and analyse skills for teaching grammar
• learn how to use e-learning and technology in the classroom

ATTC’s nationally accredited 40649SA Certificate IV in TESOL course enables you to gain a qualification for teaching English in Australia and overseas. The course, which focuses on teaching English to adults, provides an intensive introduction to language teaching principles, approaches and methodology.
In this course you will:
• review English grammar and learn the terminology you will need when teaching English
• learn about current methodology and teaching tasks for teaching adults
• participate in practical teaching demonstrations given by your experienced teacher trainer
• plan and deliver classes for learners of English (Teaching Practice)

has been approved for Centrelink Student related payments.*

English for TESOL
If you want to become an English teacher, or if you are already an English teacher and want to develop your skills further, then this is the course for you.
The course examines general teaching principles and will enable you to independently plan, deliver and evaluate your own teaching. The communicative TESOL methodology and practical techniques learned during the course are suitable for teaching adults.
The English for TESOL course consists of two intensive modules that will help you develop practical teaching techniques and language skills. These modules can be taken independently and in either order.

TESOL Teacher Training Programs for Cambridge English Language Assessment awards
The most widely recognised international qualifications for English language teachers are those offered by the University of Cambridge English Language Assessment ESOL. In 1983 ATTC became the first centre in Australia to offer these teacher training programs, and today ATTC offers both full-time and part-time programs, as well as online programs throughout the year. ATTC graduates can be found in exciting teaching positions around the world.
Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA)* Thousands of English language teachers around the world hold the internationally recognised CELTA qualification. This program is intended for people who want to become English language teachers and have native or near-native English language skills.
The CELTA course is highly practical and combines:
• teaching skills
• learning about language
• current methodology
• teaching resources
ATTC offers four-week full-time, 12-week part-time and 24 week online (blended learning) courses throughout the year.

Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA)*The prestigious Cambridge English Language Assessment ESOL DELTA qualification is held by many of the world’s most experienced teachers, head teachers, Directors of Studies and Teacher Trainers.
ATTC offers a blended learning course (online + 5 week intensive) for DELTA Module 1 and DELTA Module 2, with DELTA Module 3 provided online.

Short courses in Teacher Training
ATTC has significant experience in the preparation of specialist TESOL resources and programs and has worked collaboratively with educational institutions and Ministries of Education to develop courses, delivered both in Australia and offshore. We have extensive experience in designing courses to meet the specific needs of English language teachers in primary, high school and tertiary contexts.
The programs we offer are highly practical and focus on the development of practical teaching skills in the classroom as well as the development of English language skills for teachers. Our qualified trainers build teachers’ competence in English language as well as confidence in their ability to use language as a means of instruction and communication in the classroom.
To support the delivery of English language lessons, ATTC familiarises teachers with a range of methods, techniques and materials that can be implemented in different contexts. Where you live and who you live with is a really important part of your stay in Australia. That’s why each of our ATTC/ Navitas English centres has its own accommodation office and manager.
We have various types of accommodation depending on the location you choose.
Independent accommodationNavitas English has a great selection of independent accommodation options. We can arrange backpacker, guest house, hostel, or hotel accommodation, as well as share houses and apartments, to suit most budgets. Accommodation options and costs will vary depending on which Navitas English centre you choose.
HomestayNavitas English has our own homestay placement officers who work directly with our homestay families. This is an affordable way to really experience an Australian lifestyle by living with a local family. You will have your own furnished room and meals will be provided by your host family.
Homestay facts
• Distance from centres: 5–45 minutes.
• We have a network of homestay families in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney.
• Stay in a homestay for the duration of your studies, or stay a few weeks with an Australian family and settle in before looking for independent accommodation.
• All rooms include a bed, wardrobe, desk, and reading light.
• Half board — you are provided all breakfasts and dinners on weekdays, and all meals (breakfast/lunch/dinner) on weekends.
