Protection from the costs of a data breach In 2011, 174 million personal records were compromised by data beach—and that number is expected to grow in the future. More than 40 percent of those breaches targeted businesses in retail, hospitality, and other customer-driven industries, which means merchants are at significant risk. The fines, assessments, and expenses merchants are obligated to pay even if a breach of credit card data is only suspected could cost them thousands—even tens of thousands—of dollars. ANX’s Data Breach Protection Program ANX’s Data Breach Protection for Merchants protects merchants from the expense of forensic audits, card replacement costs, and fines that result from suspected or actual data breaches due to network hacking, skimming, and even physical losses resulting from employee dishonesty or third-party theft of computer or paper records. This program is offered as part of ANX's PCI Compliance and Security Solutions. The program is 100% underwritten by financially strong organizations rated “A” by independent third-party rating agencies. Program Coverage The program has comprehensive coverage of up to $100,000 per location with a combined maximum of $500,000 for merchants with multiple locations. Coverage includes: A mandatory forensic audit required by the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) when a data breach is suspected. This audit will confirm whether an actual breach has occurred and pinpoint where the merchant’s system is most vulnerable. Card replacement costs and related expenses. PCI DSS assessments and fines resulting from a data breach. Two hours of telephone consulting by ANX Security experts. ANX e-learning courses covering PCI and Security awareness. Triggering the coverage is easy As soon as you receive notice of a suspected data breach, three simple steps are all it takes to trigger coverage for the mandatory audit expenses: 1. The merchant fills out an online claim form by following the easy-to-use link in the merchant portal 2. The merchant uploads or faxes the notice from the acquiring bank that stipulates there has been a suspected or actual breach at the merchant’s location and chooses an authorized, qualified security assessor 3. When the forensic audit is complete, the merchant uploads or faxes a copy of the assessor’s invoice ANX will then process the claim for payment and, assuming all documents are in order, the merchant will receive a check for the expenses incurred from the forensic audit (up to coverage limits). We’ll also pay for card replacement costs (and related expenses) and for any fines incurred (up to coverage limits). In fact, our program offers to pay for fines resulting from a data breach—all with a $0 deductible. Program Overview Data Breach Protection for Merchants ANX ® is a trademark of ANXeBusiness Corp.
