PC-Primus Apex takes full advantage of Honeywell's

actual Primus Apex Flight Management System (FMS)

and Display System software, systems that use the same

innovative technologies developed for Honeywell’s

Primus Epic® avionics suite. This sophisticated

PC-based familiarization tool allows the pilot to practice

FMS functions and display management procedures for

ground-based and airborne operations.

Who should use the PC-PrimusApex familiarization tool?

Pilots looking to gain experience in

operating the Honeywell Primus Apex®

integrated avionics system FMS and

display system will benefit from this tool.

The training tool also provides valuable

experience in the interaction between

the FMS and display system with the

interactive free-play environment and

tutorial-based ground school lessons.

These lessons review all control panel

functionality, show basic architecture

and design, discuss symbology and

color assignments, teach pilots how to

tune radios and program the FMS and

review display failure modes.

Key advantages

The PC-Primus Apex familiarization tool

provides a detailed presentation of the

FMS and display windows. High-

resolution graphics are combined with

actual aircraft code to create a

training environment that looks just

like the aircraft.

PC-Primus Apex PC-Primus Apex includes the following avionics functionality:

• Honeywell Primus Apex displays and FMS

• KMC 2210 PFD Controller • KMC 2220 Multi-Function Controller • KMC 9200 Flight Control Panel • Basic PC-12 autopilot emulation

Interactions between the FMS and

displays are depicted as they are in the

aircraft. The aircraft flight controller gives

the pilot the ability to select basic

heading, altitude and speed commands

as well as the engagement of the Flight

Director lateral and vertical modes. Flight

plans created using PC-Primus Apex will

be transferable to the aircraft when the

upload feature is available in the aircraft

(not available today but will be available

in a future certification).

• Grob spn coming 2009

More features

Included in the tool is a real world-wide

FMS navigation database. This allows for

the entry of actual Departure Procedures

(SIDs)/ Standard Terminal Arrival Route

(STARs) and approaches. Please note

that this database is not current and

should be used for training purposes

only. The database can be updated

using your database from your aircraft

navigation database subscription.
