PARENTS! Thank you all for thinking of me and recognizing National Catholic School Principal’s Day this year. Your kindness and generosity are truly appreciated; and it is the support of our students, families, and staff that keep me going each day. The beautiful Willow Tree Nativity set was the perfect gift and something I have been wanting for my office. One of my favorite moments this year was when we had fortune cookies last week for lunch. Emma Bullock, Grade 4, brought me her fortune and it meant the world to me. It read, “Your principles mean more to you than money or success.” These are moments I treasure. Picture Retakes Picture retakes are scheduled for Tuesday, November 26, from 8 to 9 a.m. at the St. Agnes Campus. Picture Retakes

Ella Hall and Evie Sherretz, both of Mrs. Morrow’s Pre-Kindergarten class, work with magnetic numbers and letters.

Alissa Sanders and Kayla Allen, Grade 2, enjoy reading together at Westside Catholic School. Olivia Barnes, Jacob

Gorman, and Lynzie Drone, Grade 8, work together to learn the elements in the Periodic Table in Science class.

Birth Announcement

Congratulations to Randy and Amy Stotler on the birth of their new daughter Cooper, born on November 5, 2013. Cooper weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 inches long. Cooper is welcomed by sister Grace, Grade 1, and Taylor, Grade 8. Congratulations! Food Drive for St. Vincent DePaul

Westside Catholic School filled a truck full of canned and perishable food items to donate to the needy at St. Vincent DePaul’s food pantry. The WCS students in grades K – 8 were very generous this year and St. Vincent’s was very appreciative. Kindergarten and Grade 2 brought in the most items and received extra recess this week as their reward. Daniel Groves, Grade 2, was told by his grandmother that she would match the dollar amount he would give of his own money toward the food drive this year. Daniel brought in box loads of food.

P.E. Teacher for the Day

Andrew Vibbert had a terrific day being “Mr. Ricketts – PE teacher for the

Day”. Andrew did a fantastic job and was very excited to lead all the PE

activities at the St. Boniface campus.

From the Society for the Evansville Girl

Toward the end of last school year, many students and parents helped our organization raise over $1,000 for Evansville Police Detective Nathan Schroer when they purchased SchroerStrong orange bracelets. Nathan, his wife Lindsay, and their three children were very appreciative for this gift as they continued to fight Nathan's leukemia. On Wednesday, November 19, Nathan Schroer lost his battle. The organization would like to thank everyone for their generous support and ask that you include the Schroer family in your prayersas they start to deal with the loss of their husband, father, and friend.

Thanksgiving Feasting

When the Halloween pumpkins are gone,

And the leaves have all fallen to ground,

When the air has turned windy and cold,

Then Thanksgiving will soon be around.

Thoughts of loved ones all feasting together,

Pleasant pictures from past times appear

To dwell in each heart and each mind—

Then Thanksgiving is finally here!

The kitchen has scrumptious aromas,

The dining room looks oh, so fine,

Decorations with pilgrims and turkeys,

And now we are ready to dine!

First the napkins are placed on our laps;

Now the prayer for the meal to be blessed,

Then we stuff the good food in our tummies,

And we hope for it all to digest!
