HIGH QUALITY TEACHING &
LEARNING
• We will be working alongside you, learning
with you, and sharing information and strategies with you.
• We value your insights and expertise. We look forward to sharing our collective best practices across the district.
• We support efforts to meet PAUSD’s focus goals: high quality teaching and learning, student equity and access to the curriculum, and both student and teacher wellness and safety.
• We are proud to have worked with PAUSD teachers on the middle school summer school redesign, STREAM, and on the PAUSD Professional Learning Conferences.
• We want to learn about the professional challenges you face, and we want to support you in your growth.
• With others, we help create a safe place for growth and resilience within the teaching and learning community.
PAUSD VISION
The heart of education as a practice of freedom is to promote growth. It’s very much
an act of love in that sense of love as something that promotes our spiritual and
mental growth.

TOSAs SECONDARY EDUCATION
2017-2018 SECONDARY EDUCATION
GOALS
Karen Logue, Suz Antink, and Tammy Juarez
We support the implementation of Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, Brain
Compatible Learning, and the Evolution of Learning Targets,
Common Assessments and Grading Philosophies so that all students have
access and opportunity to be successfully engaged in joyful,
purposeful learning.
WE SUPPORT GROWTH IN TEACHING AND LEARNING BY…
Collaborating Some of our main functions are to promote collaboration within and
across schools and disciplines.
Co-Planning TOSAs work with individual teachers
and course-alike/interdisciplinary teams of teachers to brainstorm ideas and instructional approaches, create projects, and plan lessons, units, and
assessments with rubrics.
Co-Teaching Co-teaching has many appearances.
TOSAs can demonstrate lessons and strategies, partner teach,
observe/coach in the classroom setting, and support your work with
individual students as well as with your entire class.
