Our Beginningtold by Michelle

Paul and I met in our late twenties while we were gathered to celebrate a mutual friend’s birthday. Before the night ended Paul asked me out on a date! We both had such similar backgrounds, families, and interests. We knew right away we wanted a relationship with each other and we have been inseparable ever since! After two years of dating, Paul asked me to marry him.

We were so in love the day we were married, and our love has continued to grow over the years. We just celebrated our eighth anniversary together!

Our Struggles With InfertilityOnce we were married we began pursuing the idea of starting a family. After a couple of years trying to get pregnant without success we sought the help of a fertility clinic. We tried several fertility treatments over the course of a few years, all of which failed. The specialists told us it was unlikely we would ever conceive. The news was heartbreaking. All of the plans we had made

were built around us having children. As we dealt with the emotions surrounding the news from the fertility clinic, we started researching our options, and we were led to adoption.

Why We Are Ch o o s i ng Adop t i onThe thought of raising someone else’s child made us really look deep inside of ourselves - our marriage, our relationship with God, and our family. We knew that this was a decision that could not be taken lightly. Someone else would be trusting us with their child. We discussed our decision to adopt with our family, friends and church family. We realized God had been preparing us all along for adoption - conceiving a child in our heart. We are ready to conceive your child in our heart and receive God’s blessing. We know you are part of his plan for our lives. Thank you for your consideration in blessing us with a family.

Michelle is my teammate in life. She is the one God designed just for me. I love her deeply and feel she is one of the most generous, caring, loving, and thoughtful people I know. I also know that I am pretty biased when it comes to her. She is a huge motivating factor in my life, giving me the strength to face each day with enthusiasm. Michelle is always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it is helping in the hay field, working cattle, or helping me with paperwork - she is there for me. More than my wife, Michelle is my friend, my best friend. I feel very fortunate to be married to her and have her in my life. My wish for her is to have the opportunity to be a mother. I know she gets to “play” mommy with her kids at school and all of our nieces, nephews, friend’s children, and cousins, but it is not the same. There is no doubt she will be a great mother and that we will make an outstanding team as parents.

Michelle Will Be An Amazing MotherMichelle will be an excellent mother, and I can’t wait to see her in that role! She has a true love for children and has wanted a child for many years. Michelle has a sweet spot for all animals, not just our dogs. Our land is full of cows, deer, turkey, and squirrels. She loves to sit on the back porch or in the swing and watch them graze and roam across the field. Anytime we have a calf that has lost its mother, she is the first to jump into action to help it survive. Last year we had three “bottle babies.” She took great care of them and each succeeded. I think the calf “condo” she had me build for them made their journey even more successful!

What Michelle Likes To DoMichelle loves family and friends and enjoys spending time with them. She believes they bring joy to life. She also enjoys working in the yard, swimming, reading, hanging out with our dogs, and traveling. Our nieces, nephews, and cousins love to come over and play at our house because Michelle always makes sure they have wonderful experiences! Michelle and I both enjoy taking the kids swimming, playing basketball with them, riding the Ranger RTV, and fishing with them.

School Teacher

Michelle is a 2nd grade teacher. She has been employed in education for 14 years and has a passion for teaching our next generation. Her love for children makes her job even more rewarding. Teaching helps fill the void of not having children of her own. The love and dedication she has for her students is amazing! She wants each one to succeed and understands that each is unique. She misses them each summer but loves having the extra time to spend with her nieces and nephews.

Michelle’s Thoughts on PaulPaul is a wonderful husband and friend. We work together, play together, and worship together. When we met, he was an answer to many prayers and a stabilizing force in my life. I am always in awe of his calming force. His patience never ceases to amaze me. He always thinks through a situation and finds a possible solution. His loyalty to friends and family makes me respect him even more. When I see him interact with children, I know he will make an awesome dad. If I ever doubt myself or get discouraged, he is always there for me. We share common goals and always strive to fulfill each other’s needs. My favorite thing about Paul is that he is who he is. Paul is consistent regardless of who he is around. Another quality I enjoy is his humor. He is constantly making me laugh and sometimes even snort! He enjoys talking with other people and has a “gift for gab”! Needless to say, I love this man and can’t imagine my life without him. I know he was part of God’s plan for my life and we definitely complement each other. The bond that we share is truly special.

I have worked for this company for over 15 years and have a very flexible schedule. In addition to my career as a salesman, I also farm hay and cattle along with my brother. I love nature; so being outdoors farming brings me great joy. I am a hard-worker and truly like my work, but the one job title I would love to have is “DADDY”.

What Paul Likes To DoPaul enjoys spending time with family and friends. We get together to grill, play cards and board games. To relax he enjoys fishing, watching college football, listening to a wide array of music, and gardening. He is a big Auburn fan and enjoys going to the games. Our farm is his job, but it is also his hobby. He takes great pride in his cattle herd. He loves being out in nature. Paul and I both love spending time with our nephews and nieces and our doggies. They definitely keep us young and on our toes!

We live in a 2-story brick home that we built in 2004. We designed the house for family time. We have 3 big bedrooms and another huge room for a playroom. We have already started buying toys, books, stuffed animals, and games for our child. Our large family room opens to our kitchen where we enjoy eating a big breakfast of cheese grits, texas toast, and bacon most mornings, but on Saturdays and Sundays we usually indulge ourselves with pancakes or cinnamon rolls. We live in a rural community in central Alabama. Our community is very family oriented and the community members are always willing and ready to help their neighbor. The nearest city is only 15 minutes away. We feel we have the best of both worlds - country living with city activities. Our home is located on a 240-acre tract of land. Our cattle graze within eyesight of our house. We also have deer, turkeys and squirrels. We have a pond on the backside of our land that we love to go fishing in.

We are blessed to have both of our families live nearby and are very close knit! We all get together regularly for cookouts and outings. Our families have shown us the true meaning of love and family. The prayers and support they provide us on a daily basis is amazing. They are all bubbling over with the idea of adding to our family through the blessing of adoption. They email or call us daily for updates. They will be wonderful grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. They can’t wait to shower our child with love and affection!

Gavin, & Grayson are all anxiously awaiting another playmate!

Michelle’s parents, like Paul’s parents, still live in the home where she was raised, and they are just a short drive from us. They just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary! We talk with them daily and see them quite often. Both are retired and can’t wait to spoil their grandchild. Michelle has a brother and a sister. Her brother, Michael, and his wife, Jeannie have two kids, Lainey (4) and Grayson (5 months old). We see them quite often because we just can’t get enough of those kiddos! Michelle’s sister, Cheri and her husband Brian are always willing to lend a helping hand. They go to the beach often to indulge their passion for deep-sea fishing. They do not have children yet, but have a dog, Lacey, which they absolutely adore. They are all eagerly waiting to become Aunts, Uncles, Grandpas, and Grandmas!

Paul’s mother lives just down the road in his childhood home and has always been very supportive of us. Paul lost his father in 2005, which was difficult for him and his family, but he is at peace knowing his father would have been so pleased at the wonderful man he is and how he has continued to prosper in farming. Paul’s mother is wonderful, and has been there for us beyond measure. She enjoys gardening, traveling, and spoiling her grandchildren. Paul’s brother, Phil, his wife Elizabeth, and their kids Alyssa (14), Wade (8), and Emily (6) live just a couple of miles away. He and Paul farm together. They are not only family, they are friends. We enjoy spending time together. They are excited about us adding to our family through adoption!

OJenny Girl - Jenny Girl is the most loyal pet companion someone could ask for. She has a very gentle disposition. She lives for treats and we graciously supply her with plenty. Riding on the Ranger RTV and truck is her favorite thing to do.

Buster is our new puppy and he is a MESS! He is only 12 weeks old and loves his toys and the “Big” dogs.

He is very playful and will be a great dog for our child to grow up with. He has already learned to sit and is

on his way to learning how to shake. Buster loves treats and kids. Our nieces, nephews, and

friend’s children now come to see Buster and not us. They are all loving his playful personality!

Sandy - Sandy is our ever-playful pup. I don’t think she will ever grow up! Sandy loves our niece, Lainey. They chase each other all over the

house and yard, as well as roll around on the floor together.

O u r C h u r c h F a m i l yWe are Christian and attend church a few miles from our home. We definitely consider the people there as part of our family. Many of our friends from church have been praying faithfully for us over the last several years and are very excited for us to adopt! Our congregation is very close knit and come together to support each other. Our church has a wonderful program for children and youth! It has been a blessing for us to see our church grow over the last couple of years and we are blessed to be a part of such a loving group.
