I am a visual and performing artist, passionate about gallery spaces that strive to be accessible to a variety of patrons regardless of race, gender, sexual, or economic background. WORK EXPERIENCE: House Manager/Tech Operator Oakland, CA Echo Brown, Performer November 2016-March 2017 Working as a private house manager for Echo, I managed box office duties and ran the front of house in a small (110 persons) event warehouse venue in downtown Oakland, CA. I also organized and operated her sound and light cues throughout the show and helped tear down chairs post-performance. Personal Assistant Alamo, CA Heejin Kim Vorhees/Jay Vorhees January-March 2017 Management of very organized household. Running errands including: car detailing, dry cleaning pickup, dog walking, grocery shopping, and any other necessary duties. Household jobs including: fireplace cleaning, wood stacking, stocking of food and other necessities, amazon ordering of necessities, dog feeding, leaf blowing, and general cleanup. Nanny Orinda, CA Brooke & Mitch Dougherty January-March 2017 Daily care of 11 month old baby boy including: feeding, playing, putting down for naps, taking on walks/hikes, light housework and laundry folding for family. House Manager Berkeley, CA Berkeley Repertory Theater December 2016-March 2017 Nightly duties including running front of house operations in one of Berkeley Rep’s two large indoor theaters and maintaining order throughout the performance. Creating a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere for patrons to enjoy live theater performance. Filling out a house report nightly, including cash handling, box office numbers, patron interactions, and noting situations that may need facilities or tech maintenance later on. Being in constant walkie-talkie contact with the stage manager and ensuring that both front and back of house operations are simultaneously effective. The Marsh Theater San Francisco/Berkeley, CA House Manager October 2016-Current The Marsh serves as a theater platform allowing solo artists to audition and perform monologue works. As house manager, I aided in opening the 100+ seat blackbox theater every night, setup for the show, assist patrons at the Box office, maintain order during shows, assist patrons leaving the show, and clean up afterwards. Throughout each evening, I complete a count of multiple banks of petty cash, assuring that the correct amount of cash is there before and after the performance. Customer service is also of utmost importance, as I strive to make sure each and every patron has an enjoyable experience. California Shakespeare Theater Berkeley/Orinda, CA Assistant House Manager May 2016-October 2016 Assisting in maintaining order at a large outdoor theater venue, running house operations before, during, and after shows, opening and closing grounds, advising house staff on problem solving and time sensitive situations, helping to resolve patron conflict while simultaneously improving the patron experience, counting and bagging large sums of money (donations) for bank transport. Most importantly, providing patrons with an enjoyable and uplifting experience through the art of live theater and ensuring this experience feels personal.
