in pools and lakes. Use bright fabrics to create a colorful regatta.

1About This QuiltCreate your own ocean scene with

colorful foundation-pieced sailboats.

2Making the Quilt CenterMake 9 paper copies of the sail-

boat foundation and 4 paper copies of the reversed foundation. Foundation piece each block in numerical order, pressing and trimming after each patch addition.

Noting the orientation of the sailboats, join the sailboats and the A patches into rows as shown. Carefully remove the foundation papers. Sew the rows together.

3Adding the BordersSew the border side strips to the

quilt and trim any extra length. Add the border top and bottom strips in the same way.

4Quilting and FinishingLayer and baste together the

backing, batting and quilt top. Referring to the quilting placement diagram, quilt random wavy lines across the sailboats and borders.

Bind the quilt.
