The potential impact of wheat yellow (stripe) rust is particularly serious in Central West Asia and East Africa (CWANA) and could become a serious problem in North Africa and even in Europe

Stripe rust highly destructive but not well understood disease. Pst could threaten food

A source of Pst inoculum is necessary to initiate an epidemic;

Pst fungus must successfully over summer in the area to provide a continuous supply of spores, or goes through an alternate host;
