It may not feel like it yet, but the

calendar says that spring will be here

soon! With that change of seasons

comes some of the busiest weeks on

the church calendar for this year.

Over the next six weeks, our church

will have a Sunday School campaign;

hold our spring revival; begin our

annual “50 Days of Prayer” emphasis; present our Easter

musical drama for the community; and celebrate the

resurrection of our Savior, with Easter services on April 5th

.

All of these events are opportunities for us to strengthen our

spiritual walk with the Lord, and to grow and mature in

Christ.

For our revival, we are blessed to have Evangelist Junior

Hill return to BBC on Sunday morning, March 15th. Bro.

Hill was with us for a Sunday last year, and our people fell

in love with this great gentleman preacher and man of

God. He is unable physically to preach all day on Sundays

now, but he will start our revival services with an

evangelistic message that will draw men and women to

Christ. Please start praying and begin inviting lost family

members and friends. Bro. Hill is a gifted evangelist, and

has a tremendous testimony of seeing hundreds saved every

year through his preaching. Our good friend, Pastor Bruce

Humbert, will pick up the mantle Sunday night and preach

the remaining nights of the meeting. He has always been a

great blessing to our congregation. We have not had

revival services scheduled since the fall of 2013. I am

excited about what the Lord is doing in the midst of our

congregation, and I earnestly ask every family of BBC to

seek the Lord during this time of special services. Pray even

now for what needs to be done in your life, the life of your

family, and your spiritual walk with God. May we be well

prepared to hear from the Lord, and to be DOERS of what

the Holy Spirit convicts us of. The psalmist cried out “Wilt

thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in

thee?” (Psalm 85:6). I am making that my prayer this

month, and I hope that you will join me in praying for

revival as we complete our 20th year and begin the next

generation of Bible Baptist Church.

We will also be featuring some fun competition and

fellowship through a Sunday School contest based on

basketball and “March Madness”. Details will be

explained in the weekly bulletin and in every class. Our

choir, orchestra, and drama teams are working very hard

for this year’s performances of “The Easter Song”, which

will take place on Thursday, April 2nd

, and Good Friday,

April 3rd

. This year’s presentation has some new scenes

and some new songs. Please pray for this outreach

ministry, as our church has become well-known for these

powerful dramas and musicals in our community.

Of course, the highlight of this spring will be our 20th

Anniversary Homecoming weekend May 16th-17

th. It will

be a great celebration featuring a church picnic;

homecoming service with great music and former staff

members; the release of our 20th

anniversary DVD; the new

choir CD; and concerts with national artists The Booth

Brothers. We are also planning to distribute the new

church directories that Sunday. Be sure to mark your

calendars NOW, and don’t let anything keep you from

celebrating with us all that God has done. Think spring!

Sunday School Contest
