carbon tax assessment and design
Chile has a functional carbon tax in the energy sector ($300 million revenue in 2018)
Colombia and Mexico have functional carbon tax programs
South Africa close to submitting carbon tax legislation to the parliament
Focus Instrument: Emission Trading Systems
Supported ETS in 2 provinces and 5 cities; Implementation of key building blocks for
China’s national ETS, soft-launched in January 2018;
Mexico developing ETS
Ukraine developed the national MRV legislation currently under consultation
Kazakhstan’s relaunched ETS after 2 years
Green House Gas Crediting and Other
In Peru sectoral NAMAS and Carbon Crediting Generation
In Thailand MRV Guideline for Energy Performance Certificate scheme
developed
study finalized on establishment of an integrated reporting system for ETS
