International Patent Pending Technology

What is

What is Solar Refrigeration?

• A thermodynamic collection system

What it is not…

• …Solar Photovoltaic (PV)

Example: Testing in pure like for like environment conditions, in order to reproduce the average energy saved on a standard commercial 9 ton (cooling capacity) refrigeration system using Solar PV technology – it would require an average of between 30 & 40 250w Solar PV panels.

How does ThermX work ?

The facts are, regardless of the compressor in use…

• DC Inverter• Super DC Inverter• Hyper DC Inverter• Staged Compression• Digital Scroll…

…on average 80% of the energy on all systems is consumed by the compressor alone.

Compressor energy consumption

The general engineering make up the system is designed to produce fluctuating loads, subject to the systems requirement.Therefore when the load requirement is low, the compressor will logically run at low speed.

Subsequently, when the ambient temperature increases and therefore load requirement is high, the system increases its load capacity, therefore substantially increasing the energy consumption of the compressor.

Inverter systems

The hotter it gets, the harder this system works

The ThermX collector heats up the refrigerant, and boosts by that the cooling capacity

Collector Compressor Condenser

Expansion valve

Evaporator

The collector• Heats up the refrigerant• Refrigerant is gaseous

The ideal gas law applies• p * V = n * R * T• The higher temperature is converted into a higher mass flow in the evaporator, what means higher cooling capacity

• The condenser can due to the increased delta T (refrigerant to ambient tremperature) the heat transfer even better

For more details see our special documentations, how it works

ThermX increases the compressor’s capacity

ThermX increases the capacity of the compresser (variable) by using solar energy. The system’s logic converts that into a lower electrical consumption and  – important !! –by keeping up the original cooling capacity at the same time

Inverter System

The hotter it gets, the less the compressor works

The secret is in the collector and the system, the air conditioners are 99% standard

Special collector

• For refrigerants• High pressure (40 bar)• High efficiency

• Compressors with variable mass flow DC Inverter Fixed speed with Variators 2 and more compressors in parellel

• Special control logic

STUDYCASE

The largest fresh bread manufacturer in Malta, boasting a wealth of high profile customers. As with most businesses in the sector, this facility consumes a vast amount of electricity on a number of applications including process cooling, freezing, refrigeration and comfort cooling throughout.

“I have to be honest, I was personally sceptical about the projected abilities of ThermX when first presented to me. However my son was completely the opposite, and convinced talked me with the testing. I am now very pleased he did, as we could have walked away from a fantastic opportunity!” - Chief Engineering Contractor, Golden Harvest

Heat pumps

ThermX heat pumps are much better than gas heaters or heat recovery systems ‐more efficient and make the building more valuable  ‐ and on top they may cool too, e.g. for a supermarket of 1 000 m²

Air conditioning• Gasheater do not comply

anymore with renewable laws in some countries, e.g Germany

• Air supply with heat recovery >50% recovery grade, high

electricity demand for blowers Rest by gas heater  Higher investment costs for

systems and bigger ducts No cooling possible

• ThermX heat pump Air to air heat pump Efficiency increase due to

STUDYCASE

“After retrofitting seven of our sites, they collectively reduced the energy consumption by 36%, therefore they were clearly the right partner for this new build project. So far they are producing results that are in line with their own projections and therefore well in line with our expectations”. Richard Cox, MD

How much money does ThermX save ?

• Reduce the electricity bill• Make utilities (electricity suppliers)

happier by less power drops • not a "me‐too" supplier of air conditioner

• Not competing over price

• low margin business

ThermX pays you back your investment

ThermX systems utilize solar energy and can pay back their investment through significant savings in energy (electricity or diesel)

Standard non‐solar systems don’t save much energy. Their today’s improvements in efficiency is marginal. Daikin cools now its PCB ‐ as in computers.  They just consume and consumer and consume and consume and consume and
