Binge Eating

❖ Usually, they have more difficulty losing weight and keeping it off than other people with serious weight problems. Most people with the disorder are overweight or obese and/or have a history of weight fluctuations, either in their own life or their family’s past.

DO YOU THINK . . .

Do you think the stars you see in movies and magazines have

typical body sizes and shapes?

Page 16: Part 2: Body Image

Lots of kids grow up thinking that people are suppose to look like

these dolls.

Do you think these dolls are realistic?

Page 18: Part 2: Body Image
Page 19: Part 2: Body Image

Is this realistic? If the Barbie was life size, she would be 6 feet tall and she would weigh 101 pounds. The ideal weight for her height should be about 150 pounds.

If the G.I. Joe were scaled up to be the height of an average man, he would have a 28” waist, 50” chest, and 22” biceps!!!!

Are you surprised magazines do this?

Jamie Lee Curtis, before a three-hour makeover that involved the skills of 13 people.

After the help of 13 people…

The following is a comparison of Hollywood stars without and with make up.

How different would you look if you had a team of make up and hair people?
