SOLAR POWERED BOLLARDS
DORAL LEGACY PARK
MORGAN LEVY PARK SYNTHETIC TURF
Located at NW 82nd Street and 114th
Avenue, the future Doral Legacy Park is
conceived as a place in which the community
can gather to enjoy sports, cultural arts, and
nature in a safe environment that is
representative of the beautiful City of Doral.
The park will encompass 18+ acres in the
section 7 area of Doral. Clearing of the park
site began on April 2, 2015 and as of October
17, 2015 the vertical construction was
underway. The park is estimated to be
completed in the Summer of 2016.
27
This project commenced on January 7, 2016 and consisted of the lighting of the bike path at
Trails & Tails Park with solar powered bollards. Currently, the bike path on NW 50th Street from
114th Avenue to NW 112th Ave is a lighted bike path and has received positive feedback from
patrons who utilize that path during the evening hours. In addition, the Public Works Department
has completed a new bike path on NW 50th Street from 112th Avenue to 107th Avenue. This bike
path will also feature solar powered lights versus the traditional standard electrical lighting. The
solar powered lights have a low installation cost and minimal site impact with no trenching,
cabling, or wiring, minimal ongoing costs associated with electricity bills or bulb replacement,
and provide a visibly green statement with no ongoing carbon emissions
DURING AFTER AFTER
This project consists of the removal of the current synthetic turf fields at Morgan Levy Park which are over 8 years old followed by drainage work and the installation of new synthetic turf fields. The new synthetic turf fields will feature slit film fibers which have a proven track record of durability. The project is estimated to take 10-12 weeks to completed once the removal process of the old turf has begun.
