Learn to Skate LessonsThe purpose of the Learn to Skate program is to introduce the basic skills of ice skating using a variety ofsafe and fun techniques that build confidence and encourage participation at the recreation level andpossibly beyond. These lessons are designed for any child who has never taken iessons before or wants toimprove on previously learned basic skills. Students wili be taught the basics of balancing, stopping andone foot gilding and will play games that reinforce these basic skills. Other skilis taught include the properway to fall on the ice and stand up again, skating towards and backwards using scuiiing motions

Learn to Skate One Day ClinicGet a jump on the New Year! Learn to skate or build on your current skating ability. The class will be discuss safety and equip-ment followed by an on ice group lesson. Basic skills of falling, giiding, dips, and crossovers will be covered, as well as skatingbackwards. Dare to Bear—Special Costume SkateMark your calendars NOW! Our annual Dare to Bear, Polar Bear Skate is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 1,from 7:00-8:30. Here's your opportunity to celebrate winter and welcome in the New Year by skating in your swimsuit That's right, we are going to "bear" it ail; well, down to your swimming suit at least. Cocoa and pizza wiii be pro-vided to a!l survivors—while supplies last. You must wear a swim suit to participate. Parents may accompany young-er skaters in regular attire. The rink wi!l be closed to the general public during the event, but will reopen from 8:30-10pm for the remainder of the session.
