Project Update
• Construction began April 2012 • City awarded contract in early
March 2012.• UA team working closely with
City to develop intergovernmental agreements for construction, real estate, operations & maintenance.
• First and Second Streets have become 2-way streets (see map)
• Access will be maintained as much as possible to key campus areas
• Park Ave. from 2nd to University closed November 12th for several months

contractor • 475 days of construction – complete
summer 2013• Multiple crews working multiple
locations• Underground utility work and overhead
& track installation• Maintain business and pedestrian
access • Olive and Highland underpasses will
remain open, Warren underpass will be closed until February 2013.
• Have worked closely with stakeholders along route.

One-Way to Two-Way Street Conversions
First Street to be converted to two-way trafficduring construction on Second Street andkept two-way to alleviate traffic congestion
Entire length of Second Street from Campbell Ave. to Mountain Ave. will become two-way to increase efficiency, especially for Second St. Garage traffic. No left turn into garage going west on 2nd Street.
Benefits include:
•Better wayfinding & orientation;•Traffic-calming effect;•Safer for pedestrians & bicyclists; and,•Improve access & egress for garage and other properties.
