Content Area: SCIENCE
Grade Level: 3RD
Summary: In this PowerPoint presentation the students will learn about the parts of a plant, their functions and contributes to the growth of a plant.
Learning Objective: Given facts and research materials, the student will be able to identify the parts of a plant and their functions with 100% accuracy.
Content Standard: Standard 1 - Cells
Accomplishment: SPI 0307.1.1 Identify specific parts of a plant and describe their function.
The life of a plant begins with a seed.
Inside a seed is a tiny new plant.
The outside of a seed has a covering called a seed coat.
From a seed, a small root grows down into the soil.
When the seed gets the right amount of water, warmth, and air, it can begin to grow creating sprouting.
As the sprout continues to develop, it will grow roots, a stem, leaves, and flowers which will form more seeds.
