Rezidor’s mid-market brand, Park Inn by Radisson Hotels have invested £50 million to refurbish 21 of their U.K sites.

The flagship hotel - Park Inn by Radisson Hotel & Conference Centre London Heathrow was allocated £13million of this huge sum to carry out an extensive refurbishment programme to refresh guestrooms, corridors and public areas.

Newhey’s priority was to create stylish contemporary designs bringing the hotel back to its rightful position at the forefront of the business and leisure market.

Design Solution

Newhey worked alongside design practice Trevillion Interiors, based in Hertfordshire, to create the brand standard designs to suit both business and leisure guests. A simple but sophisticated 3 colour Graphics Tufted design was chosen for the guestrooms incorporating a different colour scheme for each of the 5 floors. The corridors mirrored the colour scheme of the guestrooms, where a Colortec+ construction was specified due to the requirement for panel and runner features throughout.

The hotel, which is situated 1.6 kilometres from Heathrow Airport, has a total of 895 guestrooms and can cater for up to 700 delegates in the stylish new facilities including 41 conference rooms and 26 syndicate rooms. In addition to this, two distinctive ground floor conference areas are now available with dedicated business centres named Aviator and Orbitor.

An air-force blue and smoke grey colour scheme with a heavy contract performance classification was specified for the conference and meeting areas. Andy Warhol styled Pop Art is featured on the walls with each syndicate and conference room being named after a pioneer of the air and a description in each room of the historic achievements of each pilot.

Since the refurbishment began in 2014, Newhey has manufactured over 20,000 square metres of Graphics Tufted and Colortec+ carpet at its factory based in Rochdale. Newhey has also supplied carpet to Park Inn by Radisson Manchester and Telford, with a number of other sites also at design stage.
