(2 Cor. 13:11)Dearly beloved in Christ,Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ!This is the last message in Abu Dhabi after three years of my pastoral ministry.I would like to sincerely thank each of you for every experience shared, friendship made, opportunity offered and good times had during my tenure. I have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of being part of the loving, caring and sharing community.With a simple smile, you made our pastoral journey so easy. Through your hospitality, you washed the strangeness away. With your prayers and encouraging words, you made our 1095 days, more energetic. Our thematic studies gave us the right path to move forward. By God’s grace we could compile and publish the study materials in a book form entitled: “Towards Greener Pastures: Pastoral Journey through a Migrant Reality.” We are thankful to many in this regard.Our intention was to make the Parish more Mission oriented and to provide space for all without any kind of differences. Moreover the newer generation was another area of focus. All parish organizations were treated equally. We have tried our best to reduce the space between us and the Utkal(Odisha),Uppukuzhy(Punalur),Doddabellapore(Bangalore) mission fields. Baniyas organic farming is not a dream but a reality now. We could complete the Hand Written Bible Project with the 650 people within 11 months. Trust it will echo in your mind that Sadhu Kochu kunju Upadeshi Musical Fest, Psalms recitation, Thybooso, LTC, Save a Little Life, Life skills, Mission Mythri etc are some of the titles we have raised here and there. We were trying to be with the people who are in need-job crisis, family issues, lost their dear ones, personal struggles, etc. The search for healing and wholeness is one of the thrusts of our ministry. I don’t know how much it was effective but with Christ we have done whatever we could.We thank God Almighty for all the blessings we have received here in the last three years. We are indebted to His Grace the Metropolitan, Diocesan Episcopas, my assistant Rev. Isaac Mathew & family, Office bearers of 2014-17 & 2017-18, Kaisthana Samithi, Organisational Leaders and Mr. Jossy Thomas for their ardent support in doing the ministry together. I wish all the very best to the new Vicar Rev. Babu Philip & Assistant Vicar Rev. Biju C. P. and their families.

May God hold you in the hollow of his handWhether I be far or near,May I hear only good news of you all.A sunbeam to warm you,A moon beam to charm youA sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you.

As I pen down these words for the newsletter, the time has come to pass the baton to a new representative, a new team, a new journey. I am extremely thankful to the THE ABU DHABI MAR THOMA CHURCH for the opportunity provided, the last one year as a Parish Secretary. First and last thanking the Lord Almighty! All the good things that you do as a Parish and you see around can only be possible through Him and the Grace of the Lord. Reflecting on the past gives me immense joy and tears. Joy because the Parish still belongs to the worshipping congregation and a fellowship community. Tears because the community is still…a giving community and the parish reaches out with willing hands to so many places. Appreciation is also expressed for the genuine love and concern from all others who have helped at the time needed most. The Abu Dhabi Mar Thoma Church stands out as one the parish which is active in all fronts. It is a joy to see all ages and different generations coming together and being involved in events that lead one step closer to the path which the Lord desires. The conventions, the camps, the VBS,the Merit awards,Parish Day Celebrations the Harvest Festival,the Watch Night service, Altar boys ministry,Labour camp ministry,Mission activities and Life’s Tithe for Christ are fitting examples of a spiritual social tolerant community .I thank the Vicars for the blessed ministry provided, their guidance and support. The office bearers who stand as a pillar in times of ups and down. The various KAISTHANA SAMITHI members who willingly executed the tasks given to them and allowed the Parish to perform as a blessed ministry. It was a delight to see the Harvest Festival phase and I am extremely grateful to the members who trusted our words and shared. Sharing in a cheerful way !Last financial year we had the honour of having two Bishops leading the Diocese to which we belong. Expressing my sincere thanks to Diocesan Bishops,Rt. Rev. Dr. Mathews Mar Makarios and Suffragan Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma Church: Rt. Rev. Geevarghese Mar Athanasius , whose sincere leadership and advice was well received. Psalm 121:3-4“He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep “.As the baton passes to Mr.Bobby Jacob,the New Parish Secretary under the leadership of New Vicars, the Parish looks forward to a wonderful year of Fruitful ministry.
